Reviews of Granton, TAS
"Gay Friendly Capital of Australia"
Granton is located 17 kms north west of Hobart. It is considered to be the gay capital of Australia not to mention Tasmania. There are also quite a few young families in the area. Although there is not much in the way of local amenities both Bridgewater and Claremont are not that far away. It is serviced well by public transport. It is a grape growing area and there are a number of small wineries which would be well worth a visit. It is also an area popular with cyclists as it is part of the route from Richmond to Hobart.

Not great for
- Isolated
- Lack of local amenities
- Fire prone area

As you would be well aware Haydos, the area of Granton has put out the proverbial door mat for homosexuals and made it the number one gay friendly suburb in the whole of Australia.
