Green Point is predominantly a quiet suburb, split by Avoca Drive. The western (waterside) side of Avoca Drive has quiet streets leading down to green, public reserves and dog exercise areas along the waterfront and is predominantly owner-occupied. The eastern (Erina) side has some newer developments, interspersed with some public housing (Katherine Crescent and surrounding cul-de-sacs are a bit of an eye-sore), along with some retirement living villages. Therefore the suburb, despite being geographically small with a relatively small population, has a broad demographic, ranging from multi-million dollar homes to higher density, low-cost living options, which tend to drag down the median home price (albeit there are no high rise developments in the suburb). The suburb has an Aldi on Avoca Drive and a Coles supermarket and other small shops, including a pharmacy, butcher, multiple doctors, vets, restaurants and cafes. Erina Fair is 5 minutes from Green Point (major shopping centre - Myer, K-Mart, Big W, Target, Woolworths, Coles, ALDI, Cinema). There are bush-walking and mountain biking trails directly adjacent to the suburb in Kincumba Mountain Reserve and a boat ramp granting access to Brisbane Water off Orana Street. Beaches at Terrigal, Avoca Beach and Copacabana are approximately 10-15 minutes drive. The M1 motorway to Sydney is 15-20 minutes away and Wahroonga (end of Motorway) is approximately 40 minutes. There is a lot to like about the suburb. It is unpretentious with established greenery and very central and accessible to the best parts of the south-eastern Central Coast.

Green Point is a beautifully leafy suburb which is centrally located in the Gosford Shire. The area offers a great lifestyle where you are only minutes to some of the best beaches, cafes, shops the Central Coast has to offer. The area does have it's own super market, butcher, medical center, schools, chemist and newsagent which is convenient for the locals. The transport system is great and have buses frequently driving past. Green Point residents come from all different ages and makes it a fabulous place to call home.

I have lived in Green Point for over 15 years and love the area. I have lived in 3 homes, the first of which was a small house in James Sea Sea Drive, followed by two homes we built in Henzel Road and then Bellbower Close. My wife and I have raised 3 children during this time and have found it a wonderful area in which to raise our family. Our kids attend local schools and have lots of friends in the immediate area. The cul-de-sac in which we curently live is much like where I grew up in Point Clare and allows the kids to play safely on the street and also excplore the surrounding bush, as well as ride bikes to the shops or park. We have great neighbours with whom we share numerous social gatherings and also help out as necessary, all of which really creates a sense of commenuity as a result. I would recommend this suburb to anyone wanting to raise a family in a predominantly safe and clean environment (no area is perfect) which is close to schools, shops, services and the beach.

We are in our third green point home (approx15yrs) and love the area as we can access the waterfront and reserves, convenient supermarket with good parking, its close to beaches, Erina Fair and not far to the F3 and rail for commuters!! Our kids have attended daycare in this area and experienced a safe environment to grow up in. Nightlife lacking in this area is a bonus for families with little noise and tourists, graffitti etc associated with this. We have always been well rewarded with the resale value of the homes we have sold in Green Point. I would highly recommend this quiet suburb and when the road works are complete, it should be perfect!!

Having lived in Green Point for the past 15 years I am always happy with our decision to settle in this great suburb.
Great Schools, conventient shopping and only 5 minutes to Beaches and Gosford town centre and rail, great for the commuter or family.
Bush and bay outlooks in quiet streets without the hassle of your suburb being taken over by tourists.
Being able to get so much more home with water views for far less than you would pay elsewhere on the Coast makes this suburb a hidden treasure with many home options.
Having read Memphis35's review it's obvious she was renting as the streets she mentions are more for rental not ownership, therefore was never settled in at Green Point, some people will suit Mardi but the comparison of these two suburbs are poles appart, it's like comparing Sydney's Eastern suburbs with the Western suburbs.
Anyone contemplating Green Point as their future home will not regret the decision.

I have lived near Henzle Ave/Highland Rd for 3 yrs, we have found it very clean,safe and peacefull. The local shops/cafe are all excellent, the Bi-lo staff are great. Nice community feel. We do not find there are any disturbances at night, (like parties etc) we have lived in other coast suburbs which are very loud. We have all age children and they have all enjoyed living here. Childcare is great too. The area is very central to get off upto the F3, as well as popping to the beaches. All the residents we have met here have been friendly . I would strongly recommmend this area for old people and young families, we can't fault it.

A visually interesting but unfriendly suburb with many residents displaying narcissistic and other mentally ill behaviours. A persistent eyesore and blight on the suburb is the public housing in Koolang Road.
