Griffin Place, Glebe, NSW 2037

Griffin Place was newly-created when the "Glebe Harbourfront" development was built around 2000. The street is named after Walter Burley Griffin, the designer/town planner responsible for much of Canberra, and who designed the small municipal building which now exists as a heritage structure on the corner of Griffin Place and Forsyth St.

The street runs parallel to the park along the waterfront of Blackwattle Bay that leads into Federation Park/Centennial Park around Glebe Point. The park is really well-maintained and sees a lot of joggers, walkers and cyclists, both recreational and commuting into the CBD. Griffin Place itself is very quiet - there is no through road and limited on-street parking (everyone who lives on the street has off-street parking) so really only residents use it.

Parents with younger kids will love it because it's so close to the park and there's a big playground in Centennial and Federation Parks. There's also a library with a good kids/toys section on Glebe Point Road. Getting older, the only two very close schools are St Scholastica's at the top of the hill in the Toxteth Estate and Sydney Secondary College on Taylor St/Bridge Road.

Good access to cafes and butcher, delis, bottle shops, fishmonger, library etc all on Glebe Point Rd. Dentists and doctors on Glebe Point Road. Commuting into the city is by light rail (Glebe stop), bus (via George St from Glebe Point Road) or walking (it's 20-25 mins door to door from Griffin Place to Pitt St mall via Bridge Road/Darling Harbour/Market St).
