"Nice quiet place to live and raise kids"
Hakea Crt is a small court in the country township of Drouin. The street is quiet and peaceful and is safe for kids and dogs. Power is underground and gas is available. Facilities are limited nearby, although it is only a 20 minute walk to the town centre where we have the standard choices available for small country towns such as pizza, fish & chips, etc. There is a video store in town and quite a good supermarket. Just around the corner we have a new Mitre 10 (Hardware).
ADSL at 8000/365 is available and I would recommend the local ISP DCSI.
Mobile reception is quite good, but there is no 3G coverage as yet.
Warragul is a short 10 minute drive away and provides a much greater variety of shops, although for major shopping needs I would recommend shopping at Fountain Gate, a huge Westfield shopping centre located 45 minutes drive away.
Commuting to Melbourne is via the new Fast Train service which takes around 70 minutes from Drouin Station to Flinders Street Station in Melbourne. If V/Line tickets are bought in 10 week blocks the cost of a weekly ticket is $57. (Total 10 week ticket cost is $570.00)
It's really a shame that I can't attach a photo, Drouin and the surrounding area is typical of the green rolling hills found in the Gippsland region in Victoria.
