"Tourist attraction!"

This is a great place to live if you love people and animals! Halls Gap is a tourist attraction, located close to Stawell.
There is always plenty to do in town, as well as many places to explore out of town

I highly recommend the pies at the bakery if you do ever venture your way to Halls Gap!

"Halls Gap- the gap with the walls of mountains"

One of the most beautiful places to visit in Australia. Green, gorgeous animals, the zoo is fantastic, our range rover loved having a look around. Delightful cafe for a latte. We only stayed a couple of days, enough to take in all the serenity and fresh oxygen. Fabulous glamping too :)

"Cuddles from Nature"

I live a Zen lifestyle and this place is perfect to chill out and go for walks. Peace and beautiful wildlife & flowers. Amazingly peaceful. A bush fire is worrying though. Overall a cool chilled place.

"Lovely Natural Australian Place"

Halls Gap is a great little place in the middle of the GRAMPIANS. It can get quite busy and the lovely mountain backdrop is beautiful. A beautiful little gem of a place to get away( with adventures waiting) from the concrete jungle.

"A great town in the heart of the Grampians"

Halls Gap is a great little town in the heart of the Grampians, but it is a little and it is very much a tourist area. There are a lot of visitors to the area each year, surprising amounts really.
This is a great area for someone looking for a tree change and they have a zest for life, a real passion for walking and hiking.
I recall visiting here a few years ago and it had a really good feel to it, up beat and positive. But the services in the town were fairly limited. If you need anything small, the local store with cater for it, but you will likely need to make regular trips across to Stawell or Ararat to get a few things. One bank and one petrol station. It is a small town.
It is a beautiful area and would have everything you could want in terms of local scenery. But nighlife? perhaps try somewhere else.
Don't expect a school in town either, you'll need to travle to the local major centres to find some of those. But it many ways it could be worth it. A great spot for a tree change or those that want to work from home, write a novel perhaps.

"Great place for nature lovers"

Halls Gap is about a three hours' drive from Melbourne City and is a great place to visit if you are a nature lover. Halls Gap is the place to stay over when visiting The Grampians. The Grampians National Park boasts of many activities and adventures. It is a great place for rock climbing, bush walking, bike riding, visiting waterfalls, lakes and many more.

In the town centre of Halls Gap, you can find cafes, restaurants, a pub, shops and many different types of accommodation. The Grampians YHA is a budget friendly youth hostel that is rated five stars. Just like it's Apollo Bay counterpart, this YHA is ecologically friendly, has great kitchen facilities and is very clean. There are a few chickens in the backyard where you can pick your own eggs for breakfast. Finally, Halls Gap is a very family friendly area where kids are able to ride on their bikes around the park and there are plenty of benches for the family picnic.

"Get close to nature"

If you love nature walks, you will be in your element in Halls Gap. There are plenty of walks to cater for any level of fitness. If you're looking for an easy option, I wouldn't recommend choosing the Pinnacle Walk which takes several hours. You're also likely to see a host of wildlife in Halls Gap with kangaroos and koalas roaming freely. There are plenty of places to stay - from cabins to luxury motels. There is also a small shopping strip with a range of shops selling mementos of Halls Gap. Dinner at the pub is a nice surprise with a large range of hearty meals on offer.
