"Family Friendly with Walking Tracks and Parks"

Harrington Park is a family friendly suburb conveniently located near Narellan and Camden. The suburb offers lots or walk ways, parks and the sporting clubs / facilities are second to none. The local Plaza which has Coles, newsagents, doctors, cafes & eateries make it so convenient when you dont want to drive to the local Town Centre. The Grove part of the suburb offers great community facilities for those that live there. Well designed suburb.

"Family Friendly Suburb"

A great suburb for those looking for a family friendly, lifestyle suburb. Picturesque and well planned, once you've lived here, you won't want to be anywhere else.

"Great area to live in the South West of Sydney"

We moved to Harrington Grove eighteen months ago. Harrington Grove is an estate within Harrington Park. Our previous homes were in Rosemeadow and St Helens Park (35 years in total) so we wanted to stay in the same area near our kids. I will write about Harrington Grove only.

I had never heard of 'community title' before buying here. We have to pay strata fees which gives us access to the three clubhouses with gyms, pools and tennis courts. The fees also cover maintaining the parks, street trees and many grassed areas. There are rules i.e. can't park boats, trailers and unregistered cars in front of our fence lines. This suits us, as where we lived before, my neighbour across the road had a large boat and camper trailer on his side of the road. Whenever they had visitors, they had to park on my footpath (due to the narrow road).

Plus there are noise restrictions after certain hours but that suits me too. A security car cruises around and I have waved to them on my driveway at 3am (when I can't sleep).

I sometimes travel to the city or Parramatta to have drinks with friends. That means walking to the bus stop on Oran Park Drive then twenty minutes to Leppington station. There is another bus stop on the Parkway that takes you to Campbelltown in fifty minutes!! You do need a car to live here, so when I'm too old to drive, it will be an issue. Local shopping centres are: Harrington Park (Coles), Gledswood Hills (Doctor, Supercheap Auto, Officeworks), Oran Park (Reject Shop and Commonwealth Bank), Gregory Hills (Reject Shop, Woolworths and vietnamese bakery). Narellan Town Centre is 3kms away. Macarthur Square in only fifteen minutes away. Across Camden Valley Way, we have all the fast food outlets, Services NSW, Toyota and 'Holden' dealers, so we have everything close at hand. Smeaton Grange has every type of trade, so you can get anything fixed.

Neighbours are great, even though you don't see many people around. Lots of couples walking their dogs. You can walk or pushbike on the concreted or tarred trails through the pretected forests (we have seen snakes). The main clubhouse holds events a few times a year where you can listen to live music, enjoy a snag or wine. You can BYO grog to the outer areas. The pool and kiddies pool looks like fun. We book the tennis courts, function room and BBQ areas online through a calendar system.

Our previous areas were starting to get unruly, which might suit most young people, but we're old and love the tranquility of Harrington Grove. The area is clean with all houses looking nice. I haven't had any complaining neighbours. We do have a Facebook page and residents have posted videos of hoodlums trying to break in. If you want to live somewhere different, try Harrington Grove. The rest of Harrington Park looks fine too.

"Pretty but Toxic"

Hands down worst suburb I've lived in. Passive aggressive neighbours looking to blame their failing marriages on something external. When I moved here I noticed lots of houses installing new front lawn grass, and I didn't understand why until I started receiving nasty anonymous letters from neighbours myself. They'll look over your fence, they'll throw trash on your lawn, they'll knock on your door to tell you to move your car if it's on their strip, but they'll park in front of your front door.

"A beautiful spot just outside of Sydney"

Harrington park is a beautiful suburb with its own lake and bush lands. There’s loads of families here and parks and playgrounds galore. So close to the shops and also a quick trip to the beautiful countryside. 50 mins to the city and 50mins to the austinmer beach. We love it here. Great suburb with great people.

"Otherwise pleasant suburb ruined by poorly behaved young males"

I've lived here now for 7 months (temporarily pending an interstate move). I previously lived in the Campbelltown area for more than 20 years and found it a great place to live. But at Harrington Park, it's a 50/50 bet these days that when I'm on a daily walk or a walk to the shops, I'll be harassed, teased and ridiculed by young males (often foul-mouthed) who travel around the local streets in groups on their pushbikes. This has never happened in the 50 plus years I've lived elsewhere - it just seems to be a Harrington Park speciality. I should add that the majority of people here are civil, respectful and polite to each other - I've never witnessed any poor behaviour at all on the part of young females, nor adults in their mid-20s and beyond, for example. A real pity because otherwise this suburb has a lot going for it, especially the wonderful parkland settings. If I had to make any recommendation about living in this area, I would suggest instead spending the (considerably) extra money to live in the wonderful neighbouring Araucaria, Lomandra Rise or Dancerwood estates.

"More than a home"

Harrington Park is more than a home. My wife and I moved to Harrington Park in 2010 and have never looked back. You only have to walk around the lake to begin to enjoy the many areas you can totally get lost whilst still living close to the city. Tranquil parks and lakes and birdlife are just ther begginning of what is special and endearing about our beloved suburb. Just ask anyone you pass on your walk who will give you a smile and a wave.

"Feels like the Country but still close to the City & all the mod cons!!!"

We have lived in Harrington Park for over 3 years now. It is a perfect piece of paradise as far as convenience to shopping, schools & leisure goes. You are also close to trains being a small drive to Campbelltown, however the roads are congested towards Narellan Road depending on the time you travel. We are from the Country so it was important for us to still have a sense of space, even though the land is obviously smaller. There are fantastic walking tracks which are even better now with Harrington Grove being established, you can walk around kms of lakes, parks & sporting facilities which suit every childs age up to their teens! For fitness freaks there is also many new gyms in the area & lots of training groups in the local parks which you can attend. The public school is fantastic, however it is growing in size - but the staff are exceptional & their effort reflects this through the school. There are Private High Schools being built, but it desperately needs a Public High School for the direct area - the demand is definately there. You have a great little Shopping Centre with a Coles & specialty stores within a 5 minute drive no matter which part of Harrington Park you live in & you are a stones throw from Narellan Town Centre which has everything you could need or head a little further down the road to Macarthur Square which is massive! For the mad handyman there is also Bunnings & Masters within a 5 minute drive also. This place has everything going for it, so close to everything yet tucked away in a beautifully well planned & landscaped Estate. With most of the building being completed there is no nuisance noise of builders carrying on. This place is taking off with so much development around it, yet Harrington Park is like a little island in the middle of it oblivious to what is going on outside!

"Friendly neighbours, quiet country feel."

My eldest son built his home in Harrington Park in 2001, he loved living in the suburb so much that my wife and I followed him. We sold our home at Voyager Point on the Georges River and then built in Endeavour Circuit Harrington Park in 2005. I am in my early sixties and think that the area is excellent for both famlies and retires. The streets are free of traffic and safe for children to play and to walk the family dog, it is even quieter at night. There is very little to no vandalisum from the large number of well-behaved families with children. I am proud to be a resident.

"Rather superb place to live if you want/have dogs and kids and dislike the rat race."

We looked throughout SW Sydney before settling in Harrington Park and after 6 months we couldn't be happier. Wonderful neighbourhood that's graffiti free and where you see everyone walking their dog, playing with their kids or mowing their lawns and tending their gardens on a Sunday. People say hi to one another and soon enough you know your whole street (if you want to) but without anyone being overly nosey. The shopping centre has most of what you'd want and anything else you can get 2min away at Narellan centre. Its certainly not in the sticks and we're both at work in under an hour but we truly love that its dead quiet at night; no aircraft, no drunken louts and no cars. Nearest trainline to the CBD is Campbelltown but that'll change soon enough with the line being extended out to Leppington.
We looked at Harrington Park on a friend's recommendation and now two more friends are looking in the Suburb and another is building two streets away in Harrington Grove so yes, we'd recommend it to others!
