Reviews of Haymarket, NSW

"Chinese restaurants superb and located very centrally"

The Yum Cha available at Haymarket exceeded that of my expectations; it really was highly sumptuous. As a general note, much of the food is from China’s southern regions, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangdong, with some intermixing with Shanghainese food. Hence, because of the wide variety, one can experience Chinese culture is no more quintessential place. For living, this is a superb destination for young professionals, in close proximity to Redfern, Cebtral and Ultimo. Great public transport. Only let down factor could be the education sector, which would be desirable improved for families. Still, the transportation Effiency makes it very easy to get from one place to another.

"Yum cha China town"

China town! Is by far one of my favourite places to eat when I am in the city of Sydney. Close by is the exhibition centre, Paddy's Market, darling harbour and much more.

Great place to live. Right in the city surrounded by Chinatown, Oxford St and close to Surry Hills.

"Chinatown - Plenty of excitment day and night."

Only minutes from the heart of the CBD Chinatown offers a glimpse of Asian street life. There are many festivals held in this area and the streets are alive with restaurants, Asian supermarkets, noodle bars and oriental souvenir shops. In Chinatown you can see a real Chinese herbalist and get an eastern style remedy or have a relaxing massage. There is always somewhere to get a great meal no matter how late or find a bar with karaoke and make yourself famous. Chinatown is close to the Sydney Entertainment as well as many discount factories where you can pick up a great bargain. Speaking of bargains, don’t miss a trip to nearby Paddy’s Market.

Rentals in Haymarket

"The fringe of the city"

Haymarket is located on the fringe of the city and is an easy ten minutes' stroll from Town Hall station. The closest train station for Haymarket will be Central Station. Alternatively, the light rail also services this area. Haymarket is more fondly known as "Chinatown" in Sydney. It is home to many Chinese restaurants, cafes, Market City, Burlington Square, bakeries and Paddy's Market.

Haymarket is a great place to visit on the weekends. You can start off the day with Yum Cha at one of the many Chinese restaurants and go shopping in Market City, Paddy's Market or the many boutiques around the area. There are a couple of high rise residential buildings around here that are very popular with young working professionals and overseas students who attend University at UTS. It is a very convenient suburb that is within an easy walking distance to the city.
