"A waterfall village perfect for raising kids with great shops and a country atmosphere"

Hazelbrook is a wonderful “village of waterfall walks” with gorgeous mountain views, great local shops, including amazing cafes, bakeries, a beautician and hairdresser and grocer and a fast train to the city. My husband and I have a young child and are surrounded by so many other families, with many families from Sydney’s inner suburbs now moving for the lifestyle. There are endless activities and supports for families with kids, like playgroups and a local bushwalk group for parents, not to mention an excellent school and childcare. The neighbourhood is tranquil, safe and friendly, with a true country feel where neighbours genuinely care about each other and shopowners etc know locals. Moving here is the best thing we did for our family!

"Love living here!"

Hazelbrook is known as the village of waterfall walks and is the perfect place to live for nature lovers. From our house we can walk to many different walking trails, waterfalls and lookouts on both sides of the village. The bird life here is incredible and there are many local parks and beautiful big trees which line the streets of the village. Hazelbrook has a great accessible train station and is an express stop with frequent trains towards Sydney or further up the mountains. It has three good schools and several child care options. The village centre has a great selection of shops and three cafes - all with great coffee! There's also a fantastic medical centre, wonderful vet and a 24-hour gym. People are generally friendly and say hello when passing on the street and our neighbours have been wonderful. There are some incredible heritage homes in the older part of the village and some more modern houses in other areas - most are on large lots with lots of space for trees. Hazelbrook is right in the middle of the Blue Mountains and has easy access to many of the interesting villages, walking trails and sights that make the Blue Mountains famous. It's only 5 minutes drive to Lawson, 10 minutes to Wentworth Falls or 15 minutes to Leura / Katoomba. The only negative about Hazelbrook is that it is at least a 15 minute drive to the nearest major supermarket. However, there is a smaller supermarket with a good selection which helps with the day-to-day items.

"The Jewel of the Mountain"

Hazelbrook is the best of both worlds! Gorgeous mountains lifestyle whilst still close enough to Sydney to do a daily commute (and the views of Sydney are amazing from here). Great place to raise kids with lots of school options. Plenty of great dining choices in neighbouring villages and a really warm sense of community.

"Country town feel - close to everything you need."

We have just moved to Hazelbrook and from the first moment, arriving at our new house- our neighbours came over to introduce themselves and said "let us know if we can you help you with anything". Coming from the Sydney Surburbs the friendliness of the neighbours came as a bit of a suprise. There are many families with children of all ages and lovely retired or semi-retired couples around. It is very quiet even though we live within 1km of the rail road. My husband has not slept this well for years. People working in the shops are very friendly. There are some fantatic places to eat and we love going to the country cinema's in nearby suburbs. All in all we love Hazelbrook!!

Rentals in Hazelbrook

"Lovely bushwalks to waterfalls, good shopping village and excellent medical and community services."

I moved here in 2007 because Sydney was way out of my price range and I wanted somewhere lovely to bring up my children. I found a gorgeous house close to the waterfalls and village that is quiet and lovely. I like the people, there are so many different types with varying interests and people seem to find there own like-minded mates. Local services are excellent especially for families, there are always free family fun days or art workshops running nearby. Swimming pool (heated and outdoor) is just up in the next village for the summer as well as the library. There are three primary schools in Hazelbrook alone, three preschools and a fantastic after school care service. My best friend lives in Northern Sydney and it is 1 hour and 15 minutes door to door, another reason I chose Hazelbrook. Sydney is just that bit easier to get to from here rather than the Upper Mountains.

"I can't believe I'm the 1st person to write a review on Hazo !!!"

Maybe I'm biased, I've lived here almost 20 years and I love the place. Well placed between the beautiful upper mountain's National Parks and the larger shopping precinct of Penrith. Our local shopping village is friendly and offers all the neccessities. Well served by rail on the comfortable mountains trains, places like Penrith, Blacktown and Parramatta are easily accessible for people commuting to work. Hazelbrook may not suit party people looking for nightlife, but for anyone who wants a good, safe, friendly and affordable place to live....why not give it a go?
