"Where Family, Community, and Home Converge"

Returning to Highton feels like coming home in the truest sense. Nestled amidst the scenic landscape of Geelong, Highton embodies the essence of suburban bliss, offering a harmonious blend of community, convenience, and natural beauty.

Having lived here before and recently purchased back to call it home once again, my affection for Highton has only deepened. What makes Highton truly special is its strong sense of community, where neighbours aren't just acquaintances but friends. This is especially evident through the experiences of my children, who attended Highton Primary School. The school's nurturing environment, dedicated teachers, and vibrant parent community fostered not only their academic growth but also a sense of belonging that extends beyond the classroom.

Beyond its excellent schools, Highton boasts an array of amenities that cater to both young families and professionals alike. From local cafes and shops to recreational facilities and parks, everything you need is within reach. And with Geelong's CBD just a short drive away, the convenience of urban living is never far off.

In summary, Highton isn't just a place to live – it's a community where families thrive and memories are made. With its strong sense of community, excellent schools like Highton Primary, convenient amenities, and breathtaking natural landscapes, Highton is more than just a suburb; it's a place to truly call home.

"One for Nature Lovers"

Bordering the scenic Barwon River, the suburb of Highton offers a superb range of lifestyles. The leafy pocket of Old Highton is simply charming, while the latest neighbourhood development showcases high-end contemporary residences. Many of these modern masterpieces capture breathtaking views over the rolling hills of Moorabool Valley.

Nature-lovers will be in their element, with Buckley Falls and the Barwon River inviting you to venture outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. Whether you prefer a leisurely stroll, an early morning run, or a kayaking adventure, this tranquil setting provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of life. Queens Park is the perfect place to enjoy family picnics and is also home to sporting grounds and the Queens Park Golf Course.

You’ll love the community feel of Highton Village, which provides you with a variety of shopping and dining options. A wide selection of schools includes the prestigious Christian College campuses, while Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds Campus is within easy reach. The Ring Road grants easy access to Melbourne and the iconic Surf Coast
beaches.

"Strong Suburb and Still Growing"

Another stunning location taking advantage of Barwon River, valley views and a community feel. It’s a very popular location in the Geelong region consisting of prestigious schools – both primary and secondary – as well as Deakin University and the new Epworth Hospital. As well as this, Highton Village offers such a cosy, local feeling with an abundance of fresh local produce, and delicious café food.

Deakin University brings a large number of students to the area, with share accommodation being very common in the Uni Estate (opposite Deakin), whilst the newer stage of Highton, Highview Estate, consists of mainly owner occupied properties (76% to be exact). A majority of residence in Highton range from 20 - 40 year old, being a mix of students, young families and professionals. The

The growth of Highton may have slowed slightly but there is still growth - 2.6% across both sale and rental prices in houses in the last 12 months. Units have had a slightly lower increase of 2.1%. The median sale price at present is $700,000 while the median rental price is $400 per week – both prices make it a relatively affordable area for both buying and renting.

Overall, Highton is very safe and family friendly. It's a neat and tidy area which offers a great community environment. Lastly, it offers a convenient location for Melbourne commuters with the ring road right at its side.

"Highton is the safest and most family friendly place to live in Geelong"

Highton in my opinion is the most family-friendly area of Geelong. Wide streets, great cafe's and restaurants, Black Basil Thai, (voted best Thai food in the region) Darriwil Farm, Two Sugars, 63 Degrees all amazing. The Barwon River walking/ cycling track is well worth a visit when you're in the area, Large kids playground area now near the Highton village, wide parking spaces and plenty of them. Access to multiple supermarkets, cricket nets, competition-grade tennis courts under lights, well-groomed football over where the Geelong Falcons train. Wider streets and established trees make this a great community to bring up children. The public primary schools in Highton are some of Geelong's best if not the best in the region. Highton is the destination to live for anyone studying or working at Deakin Uni or Epworth Hospital at only 3-5 mins away. If its access to a station you need, then South Geelong station is only 5-8 minutes away in a car from anywhere in Highton and free parking at the station so it doesn't get much more convenient than that. Let's face it you never want to live too close to a station for all the noise and traffic, but living within minutes means you get a great quality of lifestyle but no noise. Having lived in Newtown, South Geelong, Drumcondra, and now on a much larger block in Highton ( Old Highton still has blocks available at 600m2, 700m2, and 800m2 +) which is what makes it such great value here and amazing for young families. Why would you live anywhere else?

"Riverside precinct - Community friendly Highton"

Best best best place to live is the Riverside precinct of Highton, Reigate Rd, Linton Lane, Culzean, Cara.
You wouldn't leave once you got in here - it took me a long time to get a home here but it was the wait, friendly neighborhood, quiet streets, birds chirping is all you would hear in the mornings, and the views of the river is why we picked it.

"You can change your home but never this awsome location !!"

Great place to raise a family, Belmont High is one of the states best schools, Barwon river is magnificent as is Buckley Falls, still affordable, 60 seconds to ring road, 15 minutes to surf coast, 45 minutes to Lygon st, has just piped Newtown, now with geelong's highest medium house price!!
A true family area, anything within walking distance to the River is where I would be putting my money, still chronically undervalued!! tree lines streets, old character homes, can still buy an unrenovated home between $300k and $400k !! not for much longer though, now is the time!
