Reviews of Holmview, QLD
"Bad smell Holmview"
I moved here last year in September and I can tell you there is 100% a bad smell at nights and early mornings , especially when it’s cooler! It’s a cow poo/overall bad smell. I actually didn’t realise I was living near an abattoir but it’s definitely coming from there as it’s a off weird cow poo smell!
The area is lovely apart from that.

Very family friendly, safe & beautiful suburb. We moved here from Melbourne & it turned out to be a wise decision.

"Nice area. Good for first time home buyers."
Bought our first home here in the Vale estate back in April. Great facilities and nice wide roads in the estate. We live in the main road and you get the occasional hoon. No smell from Teys and no flooding. I walk around at night and feel safe.

"Vale estate used to be nice"
Vale estate looks nice.on the outside but when you move in not good, the playground is always dirty old toilet paper, dirty nappies left in the garden beds. Consent trucks going in and out cause there only one road in. Hoons speeding up and down the road, drunk people at the park on the weekends. Police are getting used to being called out. Going to shit quickly.

Agreed. I purchased two properties as an investment there an decided to live in one. It was an absolute nightmare with two break ins an issues constantly on the street. Lots of drinking an parties happening with the youth walking the streets looking for an easy win with stealing. I had my letter box stolen on the developing property an had one of our contractors trailers being opened up an stolen.

"Not much planning was put into this estate!"
This part of holmview is pathetic. Not recommended for people without a 4x4 to get there on the 1.5m wide road that has more potholes and cracks then any other road i have seen.
Its a bad area for break-ins and violence, and hoons doing burnouts here on our streets.
Police and ambulance's take more than 20min to get here in the worst emergency!
And what they never told me is this neighborhood is next door to the teys brothers abattoir, and the smell of the meat and blood is overwhelming some nights. The cows are noisy at 3am!
I want OUT! I signed a 12month lease and im a prisoner in my own home!
I'm disgusted. Don't Come Here! Dont Build Here! Dont Rent Or Buy Here!!
This review is rubbish!!!, I have lived in Holmview for a long time it is a great place to live no smell. Maybe you should check your freezer. There is less crime down here than Brisbane. I also own a two wheel drive little normal car and have no trouble getting around. Pot holes where? council is the quickest i have ever seen with clean ups and repairs. Cows are noisy lol come on get a life.
I'm sorry sills, but the smell is pretty offensive of a night. And where are the footpaths from the main roads to the estate? When we looked at a property here I was very concerned for the safety of a child we saw walking along teys road, she either had to walk along the busy narrow rd or in the long grass beside it. I saw quite a few youths doing that trek, is it because there isnt any public transport?
The smell is from teys meat works and is.not good, holmview is.getting rough with drunks and hoons a lot of people are selling up to move out of Vale estate.
how is it? any additional comments about starting and buying a new home at the Vale?
Holmview smells from the meatworks factory an has a major mice issues. In regards to the locals there are some streets that are violent an multicultural. Recipe for disaster is regards to rubbish an the narrow streets provide a playground for hoons to do damage.
Hi. We are planning to buy a property in Holmview. Is smell still an issue? Also, are people falling sick because of the proximity to abattoir? Please advise.
