What's around Edkins Street

House description

“Your Own Inner North Sanctuary”

Positioned on a stunning, quiet, tree lined street, you will feel embraced by the warmth and style of this incredible home.

Encircled by picturesque, yet easy-care gardens, the home is perfect for entertaining as it offers a fantastic tiered timber deck at the front, plus an expansive paved area under a pergola at the rear for private dining.

The home has been fully renovated with meticulous attention to detail, using only quality fixtures and rich solid timber finishes, which delight the sight and senses.

North facing to the front, natural light permeates through the many double hung Victorian Ash windows and French doors. Flyscreens to the windows allow for cool breezes to drift through the home. Gleaming Manna gum timber flooring makes a statement and for additional energy efficiency it was laid on top of the original timber flooring.

The main living area is open plan in design and the fabulous kitchen lies adjacent, boasting a vast amount of sleek granite bench space and splashback, with a clever combination of gas and electric cooking, a Miele dishwasher and an abundance of cupboards and breakfast bar.

Both the bathroom and laundry are stylishly designed and presented in calm colour tones; the luxurious bathroom features a deep bath, plus separate shower and the laundry displays a unique and beautiful stained glass window.

Flexibility of living is assured with the choice of three bedrooms, or two plus a second living space, T.V. room or study.

The rear garden is bursting with blackberries, fruit trees, colourful bulbs, iris, hellebores, red hot pokers and natives, including bottle brush and wattle. The veggie garden beckons!

Midway down the street is a great playground, and beyond, but within walking distance are the much awaited Downer shops and the Dickson precinct, with its cafes, restaurants, myriad of shops, facilities, services and amenities.

Being 'in area' for much sought after schools, ovals, bike paths, access to public transport (including the future Metro Light rail), and proximity to the Central Business District, make this Inner North suburb highly desirable.

Owner's Comments
This much loved property was intended to be a wonderful home for many years. However, it is reluctantly being offered to auction due to an unanticipated change in circumstances that will result in a move interstate.
Such a dream to live in!
Whichever room I was in - opening the curtains to the trees and gardens was blissful, and listening to the many varieties of birds was peaceful too. The kitchen is brilliant for cooking - heaps of storage and bench space.
Air-conditioning is not necessary as the house stays cool with the gorgeous shady trees, especially from the afternoon sun and I have only had to use the bedroom ceiling fan on a few hot summer nights. The heating is really efficient and effective and can be programmed for operating times. I will miss the instantaneous, temperature controlled gas hot water, which, together with the awesome water-saving shower head means you don't want to get out from under the shower!
