This historic town is packed with history and for visitors, I strongly suggest a walking tour to take in the colonial architecture! The famous Macquarie Arms hotel is a must see, and then a wander along the banks of the Hawkesbury- all the way to family friendly Governor Phillip Park is lovely (especially in the morning and at sunset)! Choosing to live in Windsor allows you to take advantage of the local weekend markets, frequent community events, and the many cafes that make up the CBD. The suburb is close to transport, and when you have guests stay there is lots to do right on your doorstep- plus day trips around the Hawkesbury to enjoy! For the fitness buffs the park has gym sessions with local PT's, well maintained walking tracks along the river, a tennis centre, a boat ramp for water sports and loads more! The area suits a variety of lifestyles as you have modern apartments for professionals, workers cottages, heritage homes, modern family homes...something for everyone. The busiest part of Windsor is the upper mall near the paddlewheel- lots of boutique shops and eateries, and the area stays alive at night over the weekend with restaurants and pubs open late. The riverbank opposite the town centre is also popular year round- but especially in Summer for bbqs and swimming. Road design is a little messy as this is a small historic town that grew to a town centre- and they closed the original main road to be a mall, but there are ample carparks to counteract this!
