Reviews of Innaloo, WA

"Walk to everything!"

I moved to Innaloo 13 years ago, and have found it to be one of the best locations if you want to be able to walk to transport, shopping and lifestyle such as cafes and restaurants.
Super easy access to the freeway and beach, and Stirling train station will get you anywhere you need to go!
We have loved Innaloo, and it is priced beautifully for entry level family homes and investors.

Looking for a home in Innaloo?

"taking the good with the bad"

have lived in Innaloo for 7 years now, with my husband. We have recently had a daughter and need to move out to somewhere bigger for growing family and 2 dogs....this is what Innaloo struggles to offer. Unless you have a lot of money, all the big, old blocks sell for a premium as they can be all subdivided.
There is a lot of high density living, and if a backyard is what you'd like then forget about Innaloo.
What the suburb has to offer.....close to everything you could want.....shopping centres, parks, beach, restaurants/take away, pubs, industrial area (Osborne Park), primary schools, medical facilities, easy transport. Aside from your work, you'd barely ever need to travel more than 3 or 5km.
Now some more of the bad....there are a mixture of people in the area. Some good, some not so good. Pick your street wisely, as there definitely some "a bit more dodgy" ones. Our area went through a stage where there were a few break-ins. We had 3 attempted, but luckily we have good security so they couldn't get in, but some damage was done.
Stirling council is not the best to deal with. I believe Stirling is too big council zone, and as such, residents get "lost in the system" when it comes to getting things sorted sometimes.
I have liked living here, but now, with a real family, I want to move on.

Great for

  • Good pubs (The Saint and Bottanica)
  • Close to freeway
  • Shopping
  • Fast Food
  • Proximity to beach and city
  • Train Station

Not great for

  • Some "dodgy" streets
  • Very little housing with backyards
  • Affordability
  • Lots of high density housing

"Great Suburb. On the rise."

I live on Odin Road, with wife and 5 year old daughter.

Parks everywhere. Great access to train Station, Great access to several shops including Innaloo shopping centre. So many options for food the problem is picking one. Cinema around the corner.
5 mins to Scarb Beach. 10-15 to the City. 2 mins to Os Park. Walking distance to two good pubs (The Saint & Botanica),
What's not to like?

Less desirables about Innaloo? lots of re-zoning has occurred, so lots of high density housing in the form of duplexes and triplex blocks, I guess it depends who you are, whether that's a negative or not. Most suburbs around the city will be experiencing this anyway over time.

So currently quite a lot of young renters, but suburb definitely transitioning into a young professional hotspot, good property investment area for sure.

"Fantastic balance between city and coast"

Love living in Innaloo. It's fantastic not having to cross the freeway to get to the beach and being able to cycle to the coast. Being so close to the city means most of our neighbourhood are professionals and workers. You don't get much for your money property wise there aren't too many families in our area, houses tend to have a better rental value than those further out from the city. Shopping is great with Innaloo Shopping Centre close for all the everyday conveniences and Karrinyup Shopping Centre also nearby for Myer/David Jones. Public transport is also fantastic.

"Very industrial Suburb..."

This suburb is conveniently located being close to Karrinyup and Osborne park.
The better properties in this suburb are closer to Doubleview where there is a hill that looks down on perth city skyline.

Public transport links are not great, most buses run down scarborough beach road, and the freeway is close... Innaloo shopping center is very industrial...

Easy access to the freeway and train station, minutes to the beach, close to Innaloo and Karrinyup shopping centres, plenty of parks around. Being close to Osborne Park is really handy too.
