"A very clucky, backwards country hike!!"
LOL!! Other reviews absolutely make me laugh!! Inverell is nothing more than a bigot filled ses-pool!! I regret ever buying a house here. The only upside is that we’ll have equity to buy a house elsewhere...and soon!! I’ve lived in the area for approx. three years now and have not liked one thing about it. Everyone is trapped in their own self ego, resistant to change or any other lifestyle. Very uneducated people!! My advice to anyone thinking of relocating to Inverell...don’t do it, you will regret it. There are 1000’s of other nice towns in NSW and Australia to raise kids and be happy. This is not one of them. We moved due to unfortunate family circumstances and can’t wait to get out.
"Lovely lifestyle"
Inverell is a great town, good shopping with some of the national retailers, hospital, doctors, good schools, 3 high schools, lovely park areas, located on the MacIntyre River next to the town where many festivals are held during the year. The rural areas are varied, but with some of the best soil in NSW in a lot of areas. New housing estates, there are the older homes plus many new homes and developments. There is a thriving cbd, good clubs, wineries, fossicking areas, sporting facilities, showground, rugby, league, soccer, cycling, horse sports including polo, western, dressage, show jumping and trail riding, there is also a great turf club etc. - You will love Inverell

"Inverell - Fossick for Gem Stones in Sapphire City."
Inverell is 593 kms north of Sydney and is known as Sapphire City. Close to the McIntyre River it is a Mecca for fossickers with some good gemstones still being found not far from the town centre. There is plenty of accommodation to suit all with well appointed caravan parks, hotel and motels as well and B & B’s and guesthouse plus a good farm stay at Elsmore. Inverell has a re-created Pioneer Village, a transport museum and arts, crafts and wood turning. For more outdoor activities you can go white water rafting on the Gwydir River during the summer season. Explore the bushland reserve at Goonoowigall or enjoy the Copeton Waters State park.
