Reviews of Jandakot, WA

"I lasted 5 months before moving out"

Jandakot would be worse suburb I have ever lived in and I've lived in numerous suburbs before. I lived in the Turnbury Park area. The amount of noise from the trains, planes and
Kwinana Freeway was unbelievable. The houses all look old and rundown compared to the other part of Jandakot. The crime in all of Jandakot is quite high as well as I was always hearing stories about cars getting broken into, flashlights shining through people's windows during the middle of the night and the noise from the cockies screaming first thing in the morning was also great... not. There's no shops around so everytime you need something you have to jump in your car and drive 15 minutes to the shops. Theirs no good public schools around either. I hated living in Jandakot and I only lasted 5 months before we moved out. Sorry but there was nothing positive to report.

"aircraft noise and hard traffic access"

we moved in jandakot early in 2020, very rural area no bus around, very far to train station and no bus around, it is not livable if you don't have a car, schools are also very very far, you need to buy gas bottle to get hot water. No night life as it is very dark, no pubs or restaurant around. Jandakot airport was just a few street away, helicopter was extremely noisy especially during late night and weekends. Got kangaroos around which is nice but nothing else

"Perfect for everyone"

I have been living in Jandakot for 16 years now. In my opinion it is the ideal place to live. Very quiet, where I live I can't hear any planes. Many many parks. Very safe. Everyone keeps there gardens nice. The only downside is sometimes in autumn you will get quite a few leaves. Everyone is very friendly.

"Former resident"

I have lived in this suburb most of my life - over 30 years in fact.
Glen Iris is beautiful - one of the nicest estates around. The land is beautifully landscaped - hilly with lots of trees (not flat and hot). Residents take pride in their homes and gardens. In fact Glen Iris is quite a safe exclusive little spot. If only there were more estates formed like this one.
I have since left Jandakot mainly due to the plane noise. The noise got to the point where I could no longer entertain outdoors. I understand the fourth runway was approved last year. Berrigan Drive traffic has also increased substantially. Such a shame.

"Nice location and friendly neighbours"

I have lived here for about 7 years now. Although most of my friends said it's quite far, I found it to be really close to any places. You basically have 3 options to go to east (cannington area) through Karel avenue, city through freeway, or west (fremantle) through north lake rd. It is very nice being located in the center isn't it ? :)

Although it is said to be close to the airport, I never get bothered by the noise because I can't hear them (and no I'm not deaf). I also heard that the airport is going to be relocated somewhere else in the future and it would be really nice if they do so.

It is an elegant complex surrounding the golf course. The neighbours are really friendly too and they look after each other well.

Rentals in Jandakot

"Young Couple's Lifestyle"

My wife and I are both mid 20s and we have recently moved into cockburn central. We really like this area as:

- We have great access to public transport which is great as we both work in the city so we are there in less than 20 mins in the morning, and we often go into town on the weekend for a drink or some Dim Sum.
- We are close to pleanty of parks and walking areas including all the lakes in the area and coogee beach.
- We are close to amenities as Gateways shopping centre is a stones through away.
- We like being in an area which is growing. There are big plans which we ahve heard about such as the extension of the shopping centre, a library and town hall, a boutique plaza as well as office space and central areas with cafes and resturants.
- We also hear that the bushland opposite will be re-developed into extensive parks and playing feilds which will be great.
