Good location near to everything and suitable place for a first home buyer like me

We moved here from Melbourne for a tree change and are so glad we did!
Lots of greenery, minutes from everything we need and lots of parks and playgrounds for the children.
Neighbours are lovely and the community spirit is strong.

My wife and I took the plunge and decided to relocate from Glen Eira to Kangaroo Flat earlier this year. What a sea change! The creek a couple of minutes' walk, the parks and reservoir within twenty minutes on foot. Lansell Square has everything we need for day to day shopping. With Bendigo a 10 minute drive in one direction and Melbourne only about 90 minutes in the other direction, we feel well situated. Not to mention that we've seen the valuation on our little house go up by 20% in only a few months. I think the future's very bright for Kangaroo Flat (and Bendigo & Regional VIC as a whole). The only downside I would hasten to point out is that if bird song doesn't appeal to you, early mornings might be a bit of a nuisance. Thankfully, we love it!

I can honestly say that Bendigo is an amazing place to live. It has everything Melbourne has plus the best of what country living has to offer.
Kangaroo Flat is transforming into it's own town centre within Bendigo. We have great shops on High Street and our very own shopping centre (Lansell Plaza) and train station. Situated on the Melbourne side of Bendigo, Kangaroo Flat is the best positioned suburb if you commute to Melbourne often.

With great parks, shops, transport and lifestyle, I highly recommend Kangaroo Flat for living or investing in real estate.

We have lived in many places throughout Australia (Hobart, Launceston, Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin and Canberra) and have just moved back to Kangaroo Flat (our second time) after deciding that this is where we would like to raise our young family. The neighbours are terrific and caring whilst maintaining privacy - it is a REAL community. Kangaroo Flat has the balance right - it is close enough to Melbourne for a quick trip to the footy or special event by road or high speed train, whilst being a part of Bendigo and regional Victoria and allowing an excellent quality of life. It just doesn't get any better!
