Karalee, QLD 4306

We live at Karalee for almost 7 years after moving from Brisbane area and due to its isolation most roads are ruled by hoons day and night. Hoons were doing burn outs or donuts in front of house day and night during the whole time we lived there and even crashed though the fence and landed a few feet away from our front door.

You will see snakes almost daily (our experience)
Junction Road is the only way in and out for most houses.
A lot of streets can be affected by heavy rain.
Isolated from other areas
No decent school
Limited shopping other than Woolies
The suburb was affected by bushfires previously.

Great place to live and raise the kids with plenty of room for sheds, pools, veggie patch and more!

My husband and I moved here in 2015 from Parkinson and have never looked back. It's a nice quiet and safe area to raise your family and recently has had some more shopping options added. The people around here are friendly and it has a real community spirit. We also love that there is limited traffic driving to work and back each day (Brown's Plains)

Once a beautiful quiet town...
Now it's daily sirens, police were surprised to hear we've had no problems. Set up for a bus service that doesn't exist. Doesn't have a decent local High School, but we have a Maccas. No planning, just put in as many homes as you can... The roads were already at maximum capacity. 2mins to the motorway is now 15...

Moved here over 12 years ago with my Husband and three boys to get away from the drugs and crime we experienced in Oxley. I have no intention on moving away as this is a wonderful safe environment to bring up a family. The neighbours are great - not in your pocket but their so you can ask them to help if you need them. Schools are wonderful and access to high schools are endless. The only concern that I would have is that the footpaths need to be upgraded along with some of the roads.

Watch Karalee Boom once the Hwy is finished... only 35min to Brisbane city. Straight run no traffic lights wow.

Karalee is awesome, it has made me very wealthy. The only issue I have with this suburb is the councillor. She has been in for too long and does nothing for the community. For the period she has been in all we've got is some crapy footpaths yet we pay the highest rates in the area. There are still areas that flood, there is no real recreational area, the footpaths are sparce. She takes recognition for the developers work like shopping centres. When she installs a park (after doing nothing for years and collecting her $150,000 pay a year) she makes a big deal of it...wow we got a park!!! So what!

If Karalee got an active councillor that had some spice in Government, Karalee would be going leaps and bounds. Give her up Karalee lets move on to some young spark who can get us more for our dollar.

Karalee is a beautiful area to live in with: large lots, a small shopping village with a Woolworths, a local primary school, reasonable commute and a beautiful semi-rural feel. There are no noisy neighbours here other than the birds! A great place for families because of the quiet streets and large properties to play on. Most yards are around an acre, enough room to own a horse. There is an abundance of parks and wildlife, many of which you will find living in your property. Located next to two rivers with stunning views. The boundaries between Karalee, Barellan Point and Chuwar (the two neighbouring suburbs) only exist on maps; these three suburbs are cut from the same stone!
