Reviews of Kensington, NSW

"The best place to live in Sydney"

Kensington has wide streets, large lots of land, many federation houses. It is close to all amenities including the best beaches, universities and schools. However, it can be too expensive in terms of housing.

"A place for the young hearted"

15 minutes to Sydney City, 15 minutes to beach, 15 minutes to the airport, walk to UNSW, walk to Sydney Boys High School and walk to Sydney Girls High School... where else would you rather be?

Did I mention Centennial Park, SFS, SCG and the Entertainment Quarter!!! My number 1 suburb in Sydney. Life is not expensive there (may be accommodation only) compared to the rest of Sydney and the people are wonderful and very well mannered

"Kensington - Close to all amenties and entertainment"

Kensington is a suburb of eastern Sydney and is mainly a residential area with many federation style homes but with a growing amount of modern units along the main thoroughfare of Anzac Pde. Kensington is also the home of Randwick Racecourse, as the course and surrounding grounds stretch from Kensington to neighbouring Randwick. The Doncaster Hotel is nearby and serves as a meeting place for some racegoers. Also at Kensington is the University of NSW Campus and the home of NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art). Not far away is Moore Park Golf Course, a beautiful course although long and challenging. There is also an all weather driving range with three levels and 60 undercover bays. There are many motels in the area and some great restaurants; you’re close to the city nest a stone’s throw from Maroubra Beach.

"A University Town in the heart of Sydney"

Kensington is the home to the renowned University of New South Wales. It is hence inevitable that Kensington has morphed into a University town over time. It is about a ten minutes' drive to the city and a twenty minutes bus ride. Public buses service the suburb and they run on a regular basis. However, if you are heading towards the city during peak hours, there is a chance that the bus will not stop for you if it is full.

Many of the dwellings here are residential units and family homes. Overseas international students predominantly occupy the units. On the other hand, the homes are located deeper within Kensington and these are predominantly homes for families. The postcode of Kensington comes with a price tag due to its location and the high demand for housing in this suburb.

The streets of Kensington are generally clean and there are several restaurants along Anzac Parade, a newsagency and Moore Park Supacenta is just a stone's throw away from this lovely tree-lined suburb. I will recommend this suburb to anyone who is looking to live close enough to the city and happy to commute a short distance.
