"Quiet peaceful street, not suited to elderly"

We use to live in Kilmory Place. It was a friendly enough street although there was some terrible neighbour who put a threatening notice about our dogs making noises. Considering it wasn't our dog (it was one of our neighbours) I thought it very rude that they didn't first try and find out the cause before putting in a threatening letter. Having said that the neighbours we actually spoke to were fantastic. Very private street and very quiet. Definitely as another reviewer has mentioned there is a very steep hill.
The local shops are pretty expensive and not that extensive. Tended to shop at Hornsby but that certainly wasn't cheap!
Trains were infrequent at the time (2 per hour at peak!) but at least there was a train station (about a 20 min walk).
Chilly in winter! And there is always the danger of bushfires. And wouldn't recommend for elderly or those who find it difficult to climb hills or stairs. I doubt there were many level backyards in the street...

"Lovely little cul-de-sac on the edge of the bush"

Kilmory Place is a very quiet, safe little street at the "end of the line" in Mt Kuring-gai ie. no one really comes here unless they live here. At the end of the street Kuring-gai Chase National Park stretches for miles and miles so residents can go to sleep with the possums and wake with the wallabies. There is a good mixture of young families and older people. The local public school is about a 10-15 minute walk with the local railway station just a bit further than this. There's a great oval and playground at the top of hill as well - but we warned, it's a steep hill! If you want to go walking from Kilmory Place be prepared for a five-minute vertical hike first! The street is in a valley so it's cold in winter but cooler in summer. Almost everyone living in this street owns their own home so there is a good sense of community with some people having lived there for 20-or-so years. Everyone is pretty house-proud so all of the homes and gardens are in good condition. There are some local shops and also a local community preschool. All in all it's a great street if you don't mind living a little out of the way.
