Kirwan, QLD 4817

I have lived and worked in Kirwan for a long period, seeing it grow over the past 40 years and the suburb still developing. This suburb is a little township with all the facilites.
Certainly no shortage of schools,Weir, Kirwan, Willows primary, Kirwan secondary, Ryan Catholic College primary & secondary, Baptist College.
Many Childcare Facilities, Churches, Library, Medicial centers, Police Station, Fire Station, Major Shopping Centers, Convenience & boutique shops & all the Banks, cinemas, restaurant hub, hotels, parks and sporting facilities.
The home of Brother's Leagues Club, Cowboys Stadium.

The building estates within the district are:

Willow's Gardens,(Some Acreage properties close by to the Cowboy's stadium, Quality property boardering the Willows Golf Club. fantastic walking and bike tracks. The area also offers Quaint Cottage homes and delightful parks. (Certainly an area to consider)

Willow Bank (fantastic quality area also close to Willows Golf Club with a quick access to the inner city roads and quick connection to the northern highway.)

Greenwood Estate great location with easy access to the city connection. (I love this development)

Princeston Park (Small Red Brick Develpment- great little spot close by to the Masonic Retiree Village, Kirwan Bowls Club, Library & Small Shopping Village "Parkside", and many eating facilities within walking distance.

This suburb offers so much for the family, housing from entry level affordable to quality homes.
A quick connection to the overpass road takes you to James Cook University, Army Barracks & Hospital in minutes.

Let's don't forget Riverway! Fantastic recreation area & watersports venue, opposite the Willows Shopping Center.

Readings Cinema Complex is surrounded by many dining out venues, King Pin Bowling, Skating Rink and other childrens entertainment.

Yes! there is some problem spots!

But when you consider the size of the suburb!!!

Great quiet streets, nearby cinema, restaurants, Riverway with fantastic free swimming pools (why would you pay, clean and care for your own!). Brilliant location all rounds. Perfect for us.

Brilliant place to live...everything is close, great for families, couples and executives wanting away from the city. If you are a golfer its fantastic. Good access to highway north and south. Too many pros to list and no cons, one of the best suburbs in town!

I will agree with previous reviews, Willows is a brilliant place to live. Its peaceful, friendly, safe and has all local amenities close by. I have lived in this area for around 10 yrs now and I reckon I would find it hard to beat. Find a small secluded street and you are in another world, no traffic noise, parklands and a beautiful golf course full of fantastic birdlife for your morning and evening walks...what more could you ask for?

Willows Gardens is a Fantastic Suburb to live in, it has all the amenities close by and is a very safe and quiet neighbourhood....if you are a footy fan or keen golfer its even better! One of the best suburbs in Townsville.

Quiet, peaceful, safe neighbourhood, 5mins to shopping centre and Riverside, 8 mins to Hospital, Uni, Army base. 3 mins to Cowboys stadium....1 min to Golf Course....what more do you want??? Wouldn't live anywhere else in Townsville.

We have lived here for almost 9 years now. We looked at a lot of other suburbs around Townsville, but Kirwan definitely suited the best. We live directly behind the Kirwan State School, which is great as the kids dont have far to walk. There are a few parks around for the kids to kick a ball or just go and play in. The soccer field is just around the corner, as is, ten pin bowling, football field, skate park. The movie theatre is just up the road, along with, restaurants, The Willows Shopping Centre, banks, vets, The Cowboys Stadium, and various other stores. As for crime, we have had no trouble in our time out here, but I have heard of some in close areas.
All in all, I would recommend Kirwan to anybody who is looking for a nice place to live in Townsville.
