Reviews of Kyogle, NSW

"Come for the day, stay for a lifetime!"

I looked everywhere from the boarder with Q.L.D to the end of Tassie, really!!! Drove into Kyogle to view, saw the town & knew I had to live here. Then we found our home & from that day it's like being in a warm hug all the time. The car eating potholes & the train you learn to live with, but the mix of people in this town & area is something you can't replace. When I have to go anywhere I always feel like I'm home as soon as I see this little place start to wrap itself around the hills. I kinda want it to stay a secret but everyone here is so damn proud of the place we can't help telling folks. 🙌🙌👏👏😘😘

Looking for a home in Kyogle?

"Shhhhh... It's the best kept secret of the Northern Rivers"

Friendlier than Bellingen, with more artisans moving up from Sydney and setting up shop. Safe, clean and green and the locals really live up to their name of Kyogle, the friendly town. I actually live 17k away in Larnook but kinda wish I had bought in Kyogle when I had the chance.

"Not happy here"

I dislike Kyogle, there is only one supermarket, whose prices seem to be higher than in Casino or Lismore, the town needs another supermarket for competition, there is no public transport, the roads are shocking, there could be some more play things in parks for kids.

Great for

  • Good friendly schools

Not great for

  • Only one supermarket
  • Council fees are a bit expensive

I'm surprised at some of your ratings, for internet you rate 1 star but i get ADSL2 1 star for fitness and gym but Kyogle just got a new gym at the showground, 2 stars for neighborhood spirit? it takes me an hour to get around the supermarket cause i have to say helo to so many people ...I could go on but 2 stars for medical facilities. i went to the hospital last Tuesday and was seen to in less than a minute. 1 star for parking what are you driving a b double? are you a plant from another town?

I agree with lewie, I think reddog1001 must be a plant from another town, if you did live here reddog1001 - you surely would have more positive comments about our town.

"Groom Street is Great"

Moved to Kyogle after living in the city. I don't understand why more people don't live here. It is so easy going. Close to the beach and shopping at Tweed. So good to start a family in and the schools are excellent. If you don't mind getting to know people and sacrificing long commutes to work well Kyogle is for you. Heaps of sports to participate in. Go Cockies. Coopers on tap at the bottom pub. Tradesman available to help with renovations. I would like to see more public transport though.

""Bushchange" for Young Family Living"

For; a great place to raise your kids on a farm - more so than in town,
both private & public schools (all ages)
Hospital, pool & cinema
Plenty of National Parks
House / Farm values good - affordable standard of living
Close to Gold coast / Brisbane
Against; prone to flooding during summer @ times
poor job prospects unless you are a tradie
Poor public transport- definitely need a reliable private vehicle as big Klms to anywhere

"Kyogle - Good place to break your trip and have a rest."

Being 32 kms north of Casino on the Summerland Highway, Kyogle is close to the QLD Border. The area is agricultural with dairy, cattle and timber being the main industries of the area. Kyogle is receives a high annual rainfall and is surrounded by many National Parks and rainforest areas. Kyogle has motels, caravan parks and like most other towns in Australia a “Commercial Hotel” offering accommodation and meals as well as the liquid amber stuff. Toonumber Dam is great for fishing and also features a well appointed conference centre whilst nearby Moore Park Nature reserve is a little more rustic. Many of the national Parks here have camping facilities, BBQ area and picnic Tables as well as toilet facilities. Kyogle is a good place to visit and break your journey.
