Reviews of Leeming, WA

"Neat & convenient"

Neat place with many beautiful pockets. Roads are generally wide and clean, houses are of good size and mostly well kept.

Location is fantastic with easy access to Kwinana Freeway, Roe Highway, Bibra Lake, Fiona Stanley, Murdoch Station, away from city hustle but yet less than 20 minutes drive away.

"Excellent Family Friendly Suburb"

We looked in many suburbs before ultimately purchasing in Leeming, and we honestly believe it was the best decision we could have made. We are blown away with how family friendly the suburb is, our kids have friends all along our street and most days are filled with playing with neighbours. Everyone is social and it's a delight to be able to socialise with neighbours out the front while all the kids play.

The large open spaces and natural bush parks mean there is always somewhere to walk to, or through, and everything you need is basically in the suburb or just over South Street at Southlands. Being able to jump on the Freeway in 2 minutes and get anywhere (the city in 15 mins for example) is a big plus.

For a place to raise our kids, we are really glad we chose Leeming.

Hey Shane. I agree its an amazing suburb as you put so eloquently its a '"family friendly suburb''. I was in the area speaking to neighbours up Sylvan Cr. (other side of Farrington Road) and they host a monthly get together on the street and most attend and socialise on a regular basis. Great to see that most are owner occupiers (some rentals) but many get amongst it and share a glass of wine. Access to all main arteries is exceptional and Leeming shopping centre has a great number of retail shops and amazing Chinese restaurant. Go Leeming!

"Visited when browsing properties"

I visited Leeming when browsing for properties and spent some time in the suburb driving around for this reason. I felt very safe and relaxed in the suburb. Beautifully presented houses, parks and streets - all well maintained. Lovely little park areas with greenery and flowers. I loved visiting the suburb!

Very safe and tranquil suburb. Presented many properties in the area. Its a pleasure with close proximity to schools, parks, BullCReek Shopping Centre (West leeming) and Farrington Shops on the other side. Great built double brick 80"s homes with large backyards. Its a great suburb to enter under 750K .

"Brillant suburb - safe and friendly"

-Excellent Leeming IGA. Open 7am to 10pm. A short walk away. ATMs, Post Box, newsagency, chemist and Video Ezy Express Kiosk in the same complex.
-Larger shops a short drive away - Bull Creek and Southlands. Spud Shed and Good Price Pharmacy also nearby.
-Lots of food options nearby - Chin's, Prima Pizza and Pasta, Farrington's Cafe & Gourmet Deli, Brumbies, Holy Mackerel fish n chips, Ichirin, Ruby's bakehouse.
-Hospitals - Fiona Stanley and St John of God Murdoch are 5 minutes by car. Fiona Stanley has a separate ED for kids. Both have maternity wards. Perfect if you have children or are expecting a child.
-Murdoch Vet Hospital is nearby and is open 24-7.
-Public schools have good reputation - Leeming Primary, West Leeming Primary, Leeming SHS.
-Private school options nearby - Corpus Christi, All Saints, Kennedy Baptist College.
-Bunnings - O'Connor, Melville, Willetton, Spearwood all a short drive away.
-Cycling PSP to CBD - right along the freeway and river, hardly any roads to cross due to numerous underpasses. 17km ride to the city.
-Farrington road bus stops next to Leeming Forum are serviced by the 515 and 516 buses. Only a short walk to these stops. These feed into Murdoch station - a quick trip north or south to get to most places.
-Choice of South St or Farrington Rd exit for Kwinana Freeway South. Good traffic flow during peak hour. Only builds up after the Farrington Rd exit... which does not affect Leeming.
-Good access to either Roe Highway or Kwinana Freeway. South Street and Leach Highway are close by. So quick and easy to get to most places.
-Most houses are on large blocks. Many are rectangular and flat.
-Neat and tidy suburb. Have never seen any rundown, unkempt or abused properties.
-NBN is HFC. No FTTN rubbish.

Very safe
-Low crime rate - just compare other suburbs using the police.wa.gov.au website. Leeming is often the lowest or close to the lowest.
-Lots of families going for walks, even late at night.
-Bright underground street lighting.
-Melville security patrol responds promptly for any issue.
-Murdoch police and fire stations are nearby.

"Great Suburb! One of the nicest suburbs I've lived in. Love living here!"

Great suburb, one of the nicest suburbs I've lived in Perth, The shops are great. Leeming IGA is excellent. Only 5 mins from here Southlands with Coles and Woolies, Cinema... Main shopping centres like Carousel and Garden City are only 10 mins away. Schools here have an awesome reputation. One of the reasons we moved here. Even though it's close to the city, it's still has a caring community spirit. The parks are fantastic. We feel very fortunate to live in such a lovely suburb.

"Family Focus Suburb"

The town planners of the Perth suburbs have created suburbs like Leeming, that have all the facilities needed by families, no matter what their age. Because of its fairly close proximity to the large Garden City complex, Leeming does not need much in the way of big stores, and the supermarket, fruit shop, Chinese restaurant, newsagent and pharmacy at the local shopping village on Farrington Road, satisfy residents’ day to day needs. Most of the homes here were built in the 1980s, most have established gardens, thanks to bore water, but others – possibly renters – look a bit unkempt.

We have lived in Leeming for 32yrs. Brought up the family and now retirees. We are always saying we need to move as the house is too big for the two of us. I feel Leeming is a well kept secret, you dont really hear it mentioned too much. Then we ask ourselves where do we move to. We love Leeming. We feel safe doing our regular walk around the streets. Most houses have well cared for gardens. Close to Fiona Stanley Hospital, a bus at my corner direct to Murdoch train station. 20 minutes walk to the movies at Southlands or take the 5 minutes bus ride. Bowls and golf close by (not that we play). Easy access to Roe Hwy and Kwinana Freeway. Nothing to too far away. The surrounding neighbours are lovely with no intrusions but we would all be there for one another if need be. Choice of parks for the grandchildren. I have just talked myself out of wanting to move. Maybe I will just keep the extra bedroom doors shut and continue to live and love Leeming.Add a comment...

No better judge than yourself Sue...living in Leeming 32 years!! From a potential buyer looking in... It seems so safe and great surrounding amenities (Fiona Stanely and train and bus station) with amazing golf course and shopping centre. Properties are so great and more importantly excellent value for money (eg size blocks with quality dwellings built not so long ago 80's)
