Reviews of Lethbridge Park, NSW

"Finally changing"

Moved into letho when I was 12 am now 25. When we first bought into the area out house was robbed at least 4 times a year. Car was stolen right infront of us. Was sitting out the back one night & the asshole living down the alley way jumped through my front window while my baby niece n nephew were sleeping. Had someone go through the cushions on my couch while I was sleeping on the couch. my & brother went over to the assholes house & told him if he ever stole or tried to break into our house again he would snap his legs off. Haven't had 1 single break in since then. I was 15 back then so it's been awesome since then. I think the people who lived here before us were dealers but that's a thought not a fact. I've seen heaps of little kids grow up on my street. All of them turned into good men. All working now looking after their families & kids. I love my street.

Great for

  • You get what u give
  • Treat the kids on the street like hoodrats & they will act like hoodrats
  • community only too happy to help out if they can
  • A stone throw from anything to see or do
  • Cheap houses
  • Close to shopping centres, schools, public transport

Not great for

  • Some problem housing residents

"Quiet and rewarding suburb"

Lethbridge park has a great neighbourly spirit with lots of schools to choose from. and lots of parks for the kids to play in and very little traffic witch gives you peace of mind when you have kids. with the amount and frequent public transport your only a stones throw away from shopping and leisure centres in the area, and not being far from the uni of western sydney it would be a great place for students.

Great for

  • community only too happy to help out if they can
  • A stone throw from anything to see or do
  • Cheap houses
  • Close to shopping centres, schools, public transport
  • Find the good streets and you will be rewarded

Not great for

  • Slightly cooler temperature in winter
  • Slightly higher temperature in summer

"Has to be Sydneys best kept seceret!"

Ive lived in the area for over 20 years and have to say our family couldnt be happier. Certainly there are pockets in the area which on the face of it could put some people off but there truly are Gems of streets where familys like ours can live in a beautiful sydney family friendly neighbourhood at unbelievable value. I grew up in Tarawa rd Lethbridge park, the street is gorgeous, well looked after generally, good neighbourhood, Very private, its tree lined and honestly i call it the ST ives of the west with its tree lined street.. obviously theres a bit of a sense of humour there but thats how i felt growing up. I love it.. plan to retire here. The general area is good for familys, there are plenty of public and private schools to choose from.. Close to buses and trains and when it comes to leasure, employment and shopping you have three main regions to choose from.. Westfields at Mount druitt and penrith. In Plumpton you have a good little local shops.. M4 and M7 is minute away along with the Business parks of around that area which again is under 10 minutes drive! The nepean river and the blue mountains are a little getaway for picnics and what have you and Sydney city/CBD is only roughly 45 mins on an express train! With the area being developed the way it is, And Land value being so expensive in Sydney and lets face it always will be, the only way is up from here. Couldnt recommend it more thats why i say with the location and its affordability yes big blocks of land, it really has to be Sydneys best kept secret!. Come and discover it for yourselves you will be suprised at you will find and afford. This is the secret i wanted to share with you, all the best and good luck at what you may find. Between $250k and $285K you really will find a diamond. cant even get a one bedroom unit in Sydney anymore. And this is Land people!.. enjoy your journey :)

"Do not judge it to quickly... Very surprising!"

I just bought a house here, an ex-department of housing property in need of some attention... Was dirt cheap and so far any renovations and development I have put into it have improved not only the value of the house but the street itself as there is another well looked after renovated house. Many new people are moving in for two main reasons, #1 department of housing is selling off all their assets at affordable prices with owner occupier contracts & #2 its very affordable for familys to live and own their home on a decent block of land even if they are non department houses. I moved from Penrith where I was renting and I have to say I much prefer Lethbridge Park, its quieter, cleaner and more relaxed and if i need anything I have either Penrith or Mt Druitt to choose from...

I first made the judgement that this was a terrible area but it has improved heaps recently and will continue to do so, great potential in the future as more and more home owners move in, develop and improve the suburb.

"A great place for couples ,young families and retirees, great for students as well"

Lethbridge park is the perfect place to own your own home,
especially for first home owners or young families,
Every house is close to a bus stop,
Mount Druitt westfield shopping centre,Plumpton market place, other countless smaller community shopping centres, schools,Tafe, government services, banks,Train stations,Library, parks, police,Hospitals, clubs,The biggest AMF bowling centre in Australia,Blacktown olympic park ,cinemas, and not to mention drive in cinema, markets, are all easily accessable by both car and public transport from Lethbridge Park.
Only about 30 mins. from the city and beaches by car ( about 60 by train )
and the same from the world famous blue mountains.
The best location in Sydney where you can still own a house with a good size backyard for that game of cricket or growing that vegetable garden near your inground pool.
Overall perfect to live but a good reverse cycle air conditioner is a must have,
but in saying that you will find most if not all houses are well equipped to deal with the climate.
