"The best of Lisarow - look no further!"

We'll I must say after recently moving into Perratt Close in Lisarow, my recommendation to everyone looking to buy is "look no further". We are the happiest we've been in a long time - this street ticks all the boxes for us and the location is fantastic. From the moment we moved in, everyone has been so kind. There is definitely a community feel in this street with people stopping for a chat or a friendly wave whilst walking their dogs. There is a mixture of younger couples with families and older baby-boomers with majority owning their own home. All the home are no more than 30 years old so the street still has a modern feel to it. Everyone takes care of their lawns and even cut each others lawns I've noticed. Perratt Close is a long street which ends in a private cul-de-sac with some beautifully presented homes that offer privacy and relaxation. Whilst recently walking my dog, I noticed a home is currently for sale in my street and thought that I must put the word out there for others that they won't be disappointed. Perratt Close is a great place to live, the homes are well spaced from each other with good sized backyards and well maintained gardens. There is a lovely bush trail you can take through to and along the creek and it is a very short walk to the train station, bus stop and new supermarket Spar. This has been really great for the locals as you don't have to get into the car to grab some chops or fresh veggies for dinner - it's all here. there is also a nice bicycle track that runs from the youth centre/public school all the way to narara which we only discovered recently. Having the sara lee factory outlet store close by is also a treat when sometimes you can smell waffles baking as you walk down towards the end of the street. Fortunately, there is no noise from the factory itself which I was surprised to find out so that is even a bonus and I never hear the train go by. We did look a few homes in the other Lisarow estate which runs of Cambourn Drive, however the homes are so close together you are practically see into other peoples bedrooms on both sides or even behind. The train noise is also loud in that estate, especially the homes located on settlers ridge and burnside close but surprisingly enough on Perratt it is a very quiet street with lots of bell and whip birds tweeting, wild turkeys and plenty of cockatoos. We love the privacy of this street and can see ourselves here for a very long time. I think it's very rare to see homes up for sale in this street so when one comes up, I wouldn't hesitate to buy and would even do it again to invest if I had the money. I have noticed that living on the higher side of Perratt Close is also a plus as you get the full daytime sunshine whereas the lower set side receives more shade from the giant pine trees which are beautfiul to look at and smell. At night, the street falls dead to the world with so much peace and quiet that it is nice to have all windows open in the bedroom to let in a cool summer's breeze. This street is a must and the best place in Lisarow to live!

"Perfect for families"

Tidy suburb. Houses are all well kept.
Close to shops, transport, beaches and the M1. 1hr to Sydney city.
Neat suburban houses and also beautiful rural properties available. Best for families and empty nesters. Young people might find it a bit boring.

"Clean and secure"

Been living in Pemberton Boulevard for almost a year and it's been great, very safe and family friendly suburb, it's near the Woolies/Coles so it's super convenient, lots of families around, most, if not all houses are very clean. The streets have so much space. This place is really underrated.

"Best family suburb in central coast"

Lisarow is an ideal suburb for families and professionals as it is situated very close to schools, transport and shopping village. It is just 10 minutes drive to westfield mall or Erina shopping centre. Also very close with 15 minutes to many great beaches.
The area is also very safe and family friendly. The houses and streets are all well maintained and you see the difference from other suburbs. The families living here are mostly in higher income group given it is one among the expensive suburbs in central coast.

Rentals in Lisarow

"An excellent place to live."

We moved to Lisarow 7 years ago and it has been a wonderful suburb for my kids to grow up in. It wasn't on my original radar but when we saw the house and surrounding suburb we jumped in.
The suburb is centrally located so you can get to either Erina Fair or Westfield Tuggerah within 15mins. Gosford is 8 mins away and Terrigal Beach 15 mins via Erina Heights
The suburb has a primary school and a high school. St Peter Tuggerah, St Joseph and St Edwards East Gosford, CC Grammar Erina, St Philips Narara and CC Adventist are all within 15 mins drive. Gosford High School (Selective) is 3 stops on the train.
Shopping is excellent with both Woolies and Coles at Lisarow.
Restaurants include Indian (Ourimbah), Thai x 2, Pizza x 2, Italian, Chinese (Ourimbah), 2 cafe's, a Takeaway, Subway and McDonalds.
The suburb has a station 3 stops from Gosford.
Crime is very low.

"Mediocre"

99% of people in NSW have no clue where Lisarow is. It's one of those areas that is in the middle of nowhere, but residents are way too keen to justify their decision to move there.
It's basically a rural community slowly moving to urbanisation. Lots of cheap medium density accommodation is, and will be, built.

If you think the sad town of Gosford is too expensive or bustling, then Lisarow is for you.
Property prices, being a function of housing demand for an area. back up this assessment.

What a stupid post Dinesh. Have you ever been to Lisarow?

saras24

Is it a bad thing if 99% of people haven't heard of Lisarow?? Obviously not what you're looking for but we love the clean, friendly safe neighbourhood for our family. Terrigal, Erina and Tuggerah are 15 mins away... yes we're happy in 'mediocre' Lisarow thanks.

Written by a idiot. Please disregard Dinesh's pointless and ill informed post.

Moronic comment... obviously has only driven down the Pacific Hwy through the commercial and semi-rural parts if even that... is currently ranked 11th best suburb in Sydney (Greater) Region for a reason... beautiful location.

"Buying a house in Lisarow.."

I have a young family and we bought a house in Lisarow in Jan 2018. Train station and Shops like Woolies , Coles and Maccas are just a stone throw from my residence. Residents are very private and streets are very safe. Very nice leafy outlook and enjoy the cool breeze all the time. Just love it here. We are not moving anywhere anymore!

"Everything you want and need."

We were renting for 10 years on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and saving for our home deposit. Finally gave up on the crazy prices down there and brought in Lisarow for 1/2 the price of the Beaches. We moved into a fantastic neighbourhood and house. As with all the other reviews the neighbours are great and friendly, my 9 year old is out playing in the Street, ridding bikes and house hopping all afternoon everyday. There is No Crime. The public school is a great little school. The Lisarow Plaza Shopping centre has everything you need. If you can’t get it at the Plaza then it’s only 15 mins to Erina or Tuggerah Westfields. The Northern Beaches has some great beaches but so does the Coast. The only difference I notice is there are less people and more parking spots. Terigal Beach and pubs are great and only 15 away from Lisarow. The Lifestyle is as good if not better than the Northern Beaches. You get that laid back lifestyle without the price tag. I wouldn’t change a thing about our new suburb. 5 Stars!!!!!

"The Little Country Town By The Sea"

Our family dreams came true when we bought our home in Lisarow last year.
It's the kind of place we dreamt of settling down and raising children, with it being the best of both worlds.

Lisarow has a small country town feel about it, with many of the homes set on acreage with horses and ponies, and a gorgeous old fashioned Primary School that's retained it's charm for the 90 years it's been serving the community.
But we're also a stones throw away from the best beaches, and everything else the Coast has to offer.

"Lisarowareans", as we humerously refer to ourselves, are a friendly bunch.
The neighbours really look out for one another, often bringing each other's bins in, mowing each other's lawns, and caring for each other's pets when they're away on holiday.
If you're the kind of person who keeps to yourself and doesn't enjoy a good yarn with the neighbours, then Lisarow probably isn't the place for you.
Community spirit is highly regarded in Lisarow.
Whether you're out in the garden, walking your dog, or doing the grocery shopping at Lisarow Plaza, you're guaranteed to be greeted with a friendly "Good morning!", "How was your weekend?", or "How's the kids?" by a familiar face.
Even the local McDonald's seems to be managed by friendlier, more respectful and well spoken local teenagers.

Lisarow has it's own small plaza with a Coles and Woolies supermarket, bakery, chemist, and Italian family restaurant (Rossini's).
Lisarow also has it's own small train station, sporting field adjacent the Primary School (Fagan's Park), peaceful reserve, and a beautiful children's playground adjacent Bill Sohier Park, with shaded seating areas that make it a nice place for a picnic, Mother's Group gathering, or Birthday Party.
Lisarow also has it's own small Medical Centre, with a team of experienced, trustworthy, and friendly Doctor's and Nurse's that are absolutely wonderful with babies and children.

Both Lisarow Primary and High School have outstanding reputations and very passionate, engaged, and dedicated staff.
Lisarow also has great child care options, with the most trusted Child Care provider in Australia, KU Preschool, situated on the quiet ground of the University, as well as another reputable preschool, First Grammar Early Learning.

Lisarow has an abundance of beautiful native birds.
We handfeed the kookaburra's and variety of Parots that frequently visit, and enjoy sitting outside of an evening listening to the soothing sound of bellbirds singing.
We also love the Twilight Markets that are held in the school ground once a month, as well as the annual fair.

We are surrounded by bushland, rainforest, and National Parks, including the Watagans, which is great for 4WDing and camping, and The Forest of Tranquility, offering family friendly events like Firefly evenings and picnics, some great bushwalking, playground, BBQ, and shaded tables and chairs.

It's also worth mentioning that we're just a 15-20 minutes drive from Westfield Tuggerah, and Erina Fair and beautiful Terrigal in the other direction on the pretty drive through Matcham.
5 minutes from Gosford CBD, where there is the local pools, library, a large selection of cafés and restaurants, shops, and League's Club with bistro and indoor children's playground.
One of our neighbour suburbs has a bowling alley, martial arts school, gymnastics, music school, and gym.
Another neighbour suburb is having an indoor leisure centre built.

Lisarow is a safe, quiet, family centred suburb.
The properties are all beautifully maintained, making the streets asthetically pleasing and a place you're proud to call home!
Nature loving families who want a quiet, simple, laid back life, in a safe neighbourhood and friendly community will LOVE it here!

A great review but a couple of amendments for you. Fagan's Park is at Point Clare, I think you mean Pluim Park but that is a private series of Soccer Pitches owned by Central Coast Football (but you could have seen Usian Bolt training there with the Mariners last year!!). Twilight Markets are only on once per year. You also forgot to mention Thai Phunk at Lisarow Plaza and their food is excellent.

"A woman's perspective on Lisarow"

I have lived in many spots around Sydney and have yet to find a place as nice as Lisarow. The surrounding suburbs pale by comparison when you look at value for money, resale and bloody friendly neighbours. The access to public transport when I walk down my street on Perratt is unlike any other. No of the other street in Lisarow or Niagra Park, Narara, Wyoming, have nice people and are as convenient without the comish accent that you don't need. I have lived throughout Sydney and the value for money, and hospitality you receive on the coast are true blue. I looked at the review from another person and as a woman I couldn't agree more. At least I feel safe on Perratt as everyone says g'day and its nice to have a yarn every once in a while with a bit of class. Good luck in finding a home although if you see one on Perratt, you're best to move on it.

Great for

  • Safe and walking distance from public transport
  • Excellent Schools
  • Close and walking distance to transport, shops, F3, schools, major shopping centres and Gosford CBD

"Quiet & Convenient"

Close to rail, and buses, 15 mins to Tuggerah or Erina Shopping Centres and beaches, have options to travel on main roads or shortcuts through Ridgeway, Easy commute to Sydney/Newcastle with rail. Very convenient with local Bi-Lo, Cafe & restaurant, Bank, Chemist and Doctors. Sporting fields (home of Central Coast Soccer Field) Fagans Park. Walking distance to local High School and Primary School. Leafy areas with bush views, nice homes and a retirement village near by. We find it so handy and convenient, and always travelling against the traffic in peak hour. Great neighbours and we have a family friendly yearly street Xmas party every year. Whats not to like.

"A beautiful quiet place, close to everything."

Lisarow is green and beautiful. Away from the hustle bustle of Erina but only 10minutes drive from anything. You wake up to the sound of bellbirds and look out to lush trees and landscape. Lisarow is only 5minutes from the train station and the F3. With primary school nearby and the highschool only 10minutes up the road. The perfect place to raise your children or to retire to.

"Good place for families"

From the earliest days of European settlement, colonists were eager to move into the area we now refer to as the Central Coast. However, the dramatic landscape and richly forested bushland that attracted settlers also - quite literally - repelled them. With nothing more than a rough track to connect it to Sydney until well into the 1800s, the area remained inaccessible to all but the most determined settlers. Those who did move to the region were well-rewarded. The Central Coast’s fertile soils and dense forests provided enterprising settlers with incomes from farming and forestry. Still, the pace of local development was slow until the late 1800s when the train line between Gosford and Sydney opened, and with it a railway station at Lisarow. Suddenly Lisarow – then a tiny settlement – was easily accessible to holiday makers from the south. The pristine forests and nearby waterways drew an ever-increasing number of tourists looking for respite from the noise and crowds of Sydney. Of course, contemporary Lisarow has changed in the last hundred years. Today, Lisarow is a highly sought after residential suburb with a large retail precinct still - fortunately - surrounded by gorgeous bushland.
