"Explore the national park"
While Macarthur itself is a very small town, it's worth a visit to explore the nearby Mt Eccles National Park. It has a number of extinct volcanoes and is a great camping spot. There are plenty of walks, you can explore the inside of a lava cave or try to spot some of the diverse wildlife. If you're feeling adventurous you can visit the Byaduk Caves or climb Mt Napier. This is a great spot to go camping with a group of friends. There are hot showers, toilet facilities and fireplaces. It's the perfect chance to get back to nature.
