"Merewether – Stunning Blue chip Iconic Beachside suburb of Newcastle – 11/10 on the ideal suburb scale"

An idyllic, active, safe suburb & community, attracting all age groups. Walking distance to stunning beaches, ocean baths, plenty of shopping & eating options in Merewether & The Junction & popular pubs such as the Iconic Beaches Hotel & Merewether Surf House overlooking Merewether Beach.

Ideal for active people with a local golf course, swimming, walking/bike riding with the coastal bathers way path running from Merewether Beach to Nobbys Beach & CBD with Glenrock Reserve for mountain biking.

"Beach lifestyle that suits everyone"

We live here for 10 years now. We love everything about Merewether. Good suburb at any family stages- with young kids, teenager ...everything are so accessible...beach, playground, good cafe...coffee, Daycare/ Preschool. We live in a street, where convenient shops are less than 5 minutes walk. Pubs, Vet, Doctors, hospital not to mention primary school are within walking distance even post office and pharmacy and yet we still enjoy a very peaceful and stress free suburban lifestyle. Merewether beach is stunning from sunrise to sunset. Beach is so clean ( less than 10 minutes walk from my home)...every morning when I wake up I still can’t believe we live in one of the most beautiful spot around Australia. People are friendly and kind. Lots of pet lovers...once your in...you would not want to leave ...we moved and traveled a lot as a family because of my husband’s work almost every 3 to 5 years ( we moved from HongKong, England, NewZealand...)but once we moved here in Newcastle- Merewether... we really felt this is just the perfect place to raise our family...I love the fact that on the busy summer day...my kids can walk to the beach (now that they are all teenagers) and enjoy sun and swim most of the day with their friends.

"Location Location Location"

Great suburb to live, safe community with beautiful beaches and cafe's. Close to shopping centres, parks, sporting fields.

Beautiful coastal paths to enjoy getting out to enjoy an active lifestyle.

Rental returns will vary depending on property, I would always recommend a comparable market appraisal to determine estimated rental return.

"Central Location"

Extremely central to Newcastle CBD. Access to ample Merewether/Newcastle schools. Minutes to the beach and some great sized blocks. A variety of young couples (unit blocks), elderly and families.

Rentals in Merewether

"The ultimate seachange"

We bought our house here in the westerly part of Merewether and really didn't realise how good living here is until we moved in. Phenomenal beaches a stones throw away, versatile shopping and eating options in the Junction, great pubs on every corner, the new Merewether surf house with it's magnificent views for sunset drinks, kotara and charlestown major shopping centres just 5 minutes away (coles at The Junction)... the list goes on.

Too many options for leisure time - the beaches, parks, amazing golf courses or a day trip out to Nelson Bay or the Hunter Valley, not to mention Sydney just down the road. The lively precincts of Darby St and Honeysuckle are 5 minutes away. Great schools/university and healthcare and the bonus of having an airport which has ridiculous cheap airfares to fly to Melbourne and Brisbane for somewhere between 40 - 80 when they're on sale. You can also fly to Byron Bay, Sydney and Canberra.

We 'accidentally' landed here and thought the real estate agent was talking rubbish when he said on the suburb scale, Merewether was an (11/10) - never thought I'd say it but he was right! We haven't looked back since moving here and just love the lifestyle. (We have lived in Melbourne and Sydney previously)
