Reviews of Moore Park, QLD

"Fantastic North facing 17 km beach: water lovers paradise"

Pretty much like living on an island but it is only a 20 minute drive into Bundaberg. Up to now the local shopping has been poor but a new set of 10 shops with a supermarket will be open before the end of 2011. But the real reason to be here is one of the best swimming beaches on the east coast: North facing, 17 km in length with no rips and a comfortable water temperature for most of the year. The beach has been rated as one safest in Queensland by surf life saving Australia(SLSA) and the water sport possibilities are numerous. The climate is also pretty much the sweet spot: long summers barely noticeable winters and none of the issues that plague North Qld.

Great for

  • Life is a beach!
  • Safe and very "leafy"
  • Island lifestyle but still practical

Not great for

  • Limited nite life

"Over Rated"

Not enough facilities and can get flooded in from major town in heavy rains.
Sand Flies and mosquitoes frequent around dawn and dusk.
On the plus it is very peaceful and people are generally very friendly
but they dont consider you a local until you have lived here 20 years or more.

"A great place to live or holiday"

Moore Park Beach is a fantastic community. It's only 20 minutes from Bundaberg, but you could be a hundred miles away! 17 kilometres of unspoilt beach and one of the region's best restaurants, Zest, is on Sylvan Drive. A Tavern, service station, convenience store, chemist, kiosk, gift store etc are also very handy. It really is a "well kept secret" that will become THE place within 5 years.
