We are moving to the area from the UK and quite like the look of Yeppoon. Any advice on the area?

We are moving to the area from the UK in February and quite like the look of Yeppoon. My wife would have to commute to Rockhampton and our children are 15, 5 and 4.
Any advice on the area, schools etc would be greatly appreciated
many thanks

Plenty of school and good ones here . I think it would suit very well. Just remember distances this is an isolated part of the world not like the Uk where you can go for a drive and be in a different village/town. However a good place for a family 100%

If the schools in Yeppoon don't take your fancy, there are also plenty of kids who commute to rocky and back each day, either on the bus or with parents.
Commute to Rockhampton is no problem at all, I go the other way daily, takes me 35 minutes.

You will love it here! Two private schools. St. Ursula's for girls and St. Brendan's for boys plus 2 Catholic Schools in addition to the State Schools. 2 Shopping Centres, check them out online. We are a small growing community with a wonderful climate. Don't bring coats, only jumpers as winter is mild (8C at night - 18-25C daytime). Lots of beaches to explore. Rockhampton airport is 35min away. A wonderful place to raise children.
