"Nice Suburb, but Noble Park North is the "hidden gem" right next door"

Mulgrave has some nice houses, but is now unaffordable for the average buyer.
If you are looking at Mulgrave as an option, the smart & savvy buyer should strongly consider looking next door! Noble Park North is a safe, family friendly suburb with M1 and M3 freeways, Waverley Gardens Shopping Centre and excellent schools. Ignore the "Noble Park" part of the title, this area is going to boom right now! Excellent public transport.

"All rounder at a reasonable price"

The suburb has everything to offer: good schools, shopping, park, close proximity to freeway and M3 everything at a very reasonable price.

"Convenient and safe but no soul"

Where is the centre of Mulgrave? There isn't one. With the massive freeway bisecting it Mulgrave has about 5 segments all quite different. However as a place to live in Melbourne it is convenient, if you use a car, and close to some good vibrant areas, shopping malls all over the place and the massive Jells Park. I enjoy living here but if you are looking for a place with a unique, distinctive character you wont find it in Mulgrave. Plenty of bus routes but no train line.

"Great School Zone"

Dream suburb to live and send kids school in the area. Mulgrave is great suburb for schools or shopping. With huge developing in Glen it's give Mulgrave a big buffer on price and great suburb to invest in.

"A great suburb to live and to raise your family"

We moved to Mulgrave 4 years ago and love it. The suburb is green, peaceful, very safe and in a very good location if you need to travel by M1, M3, Springvale road or Wellington road. Few minutes away from Monash University, The Glen, M-City, Springvale Home Maker centre with Ikea, Dandenong Market, Springvale Market, Compared to other expensive and crowded suburbs around like Wheelers Hill, Clayton or Glen Waverley, the house price is still very affordable while you still have access to all amenities you need with 2 good size shopping centres, 3 local shopping strips , 5 good schools and 2 medical clinics.

"Close to everything... nearly"

Lived in Mulgrave for a few years. House was built in the 1960s. You get a lot of that in the older parts towards Springvale Rd. A lot of Olympic orange/yellow brick homes, not the most esthetically pleasant homes but I guess that was the style back then. Most front yards a well maintained. The oldies that lived in the area from the early days a pretty nice. The newer people tend to be young families and uni students.
Waverley Parks got a good vibe to it for the development that it is. Good restaurants there to.
You’re near Monash uni Clayton, Monash Fwy and Eastlink. A lot of good schools, a lot of bus routes to get you to the station. Huntingdale, Springvale , Westall and Clayton aren’t too far away but there’s no line that passes through Mulgrave.
Good parks, close to a lot of shops. Strangely I find that there’s a lot of bottle shops... if you like Asian food Spingvalle and Glenny are like a 10min drive. Then give yourself like 15 minutes on top to find parking.
Overall pretty good place to live.

"A good mix of different character with central location"

5 Schools, 2 good size shopping center, central location and approx $800k median price make this suburb a winner, specially when compared with Clayton and Glen Waverley . However it has started to get bit crowded, probably a same trend every where else.

"A fantastic place to raise a family"

Mulgrave is a quiet little suburb, surprisingly so given that there are 2 major shopping centres there - Brandon Park and Waverley Gardens, plus Sandown. The best bakery is on Wanda St. You must also try Chopsticks Chinese Restaurant on Mackie Rd - delicious. Terrific local schools. Lots of parks, sporting clubs and community groups call Mulgrave home.

x 1,000,000 & nothing has changed since your last post except a second GFC as of 10/8/2011.Also if you bought land you could build a cheaper nicer house doing it yourself than Mirvac ;)

"Central Haven"

I've been living in Mulgrave for the past four months and loving it. I have previously been living in the west most of my life and I can honestly say I am now very happy to be living in the East. Mulgrave is a central haven for everything you could possibly imagine. There is waverly gardens for shopping, there are heaps of stores on princess highway, heaps of eateries at springvale and central city walk plus cinema, there are GP's and dental practices everywhere, public transport is close by and there are heaps of schools around.

Mulgrave is close proximity to almost everything. It is also a safe area aswell and neighbours are all friendly. The property prices here are also going up so if you looking for an investment then Mulgrave is a place to buy aswell. My property already has increased in value since four months ago. I recommend for all people, but especially for growing families and retirees because Mulgrave also has one of the nicest cemetry I've seen = )

"changed alot but still quiet the same, somehow!?!"

i went to scholl there, all my friends lived/lives there, i wouldnt go as far as to say it is safe but if you know the area well its not so bad. house prices have risen alot and you cant find a rental of a house under $300, if you can find a run down house for cheap, renovate it then sell it, a nice profit is in store.

Nice if you enjoy trafffic, footy, small blocks and over priced blocks that won't CG until 2030???...Look else where if investing,if buying with your heart,by all means :)

Greenerpastures @ please name one suburb in Melbourne or Sydney which does not have traffic issue and over priced new townhouses that looks more like shoe box. Lets accept the fact the face of Melbourne is changing rather you are part of it or not.
