"A gem, east of the Tamar"

Moved from Sydney for a lifestyle change. We found the area to be safe, mainly consisting of retirees (empty nesters). We bought an old home with views and fixed it up. The 60 year old home was well built. Young families are starting to make their way into the area as it's affordable, close to the CBD, fruit farms, schools, public transport and local Mowbray shopping precinct.

"Quiet lifestyle close to shops"

Newnham is so close to the shopping at Mowbray where there are the big stores like Target and Chemist Warehouse. And when I want to find second hand things, I like to go to the op shops which is walking distance.

"Suprisingly Quiet and Close to Everything"

Newnham is a lovely quiet area. Its nice and clean and really shocked me at first. I thought it wouldve been noisy because of how close to the highway it is, but all the side streets are suprisingly quiet! I love the nice clean smell in the air and its a nice refreshing change. Its close to services so the family and i can walk, (which we appreciate because of petrol prices). But we are also really greatful its so close to the schools so the kids can walk. Its also nice being so close to the college for when the kids grow up.

Definitely can see this area sky-rocketing in value. 11/10 recommend

"Lovely & Quite Area but Close to Everything"

I love the area so much! Bought a new home in the area in around 2016 and I just cant get enough! I adore how quite Newnham is but its incredibly close to Mowbray meaning you get all the shops nearby but the peace and quite of being the suburb next door. Definitely recommend! 11/10

"River Views"

Set uphill from the banks of the Tamar River, Newnham offers residents water views to the north and west. With newer and older pockets, there's home sure to be in everyone's budget here. TAFE campus, University, and The Australian Maritime College are located here. A quick trip on the East Tamar Highway for work at Georgetown & Bell Bay or just 10min to Launceston CBD to the South.

"Convenient Location"

Newnham is located next to Mowbray in Launceston's northern suburbs and is a great spot for investors and first home buyers. Close to the university and the shops in Mowbray, Newnham is quiet and suburban with only 5-10 minutes drive from Launceston. With a mixture of new and character homes, you will find people from all walks of life in this suburb.

"very safe and quiet, near uni and close to shops"

Dafnis Drive in Newnham is a very quiet street (Saturday night no traffic or noise) and a great place to live. It is a 3 minute drive to the Uni, 2 minutes to shops and primary/high schools, and 10 minutes to the centre of Launceston. We have lived in various parts of Launceston and think this is by far the best. Being a new area, there are plenty of new houses being built with the neighbors around us being very friendly and helpful with a number of young familys building in the area. We feel very safe here and would highly recommend Dafnis Dr to anyone. Happy house hunting :)
