Whilst the long weekend has come and gone, there is nothing stopping you from packing your bags on Friday afternoon, and squeezing every hour out of the weekend for a getaway. Instead of visiting every CBD in Australia, why not try focusing on visiting the best holiday getaways and spending time in Australia’s most beautiful suburbs.

1. Daylesford, Victoria.

Daylesford is one of Melbourne’s most glamorous suburbs because of its greenery and beautiful natural produce on offer. With an abundance of spas, Daylesford is only 115km North-West of Melbourne’s CBD. There are great wineries on offer that you have to visit, and great eateries. 2. Queenstown, Tasmania

Located in some of the most pristine nature surroundings in Australia, Queenstown, provides a breath of fresh air, deep in a valley of the mountains. With a small population of under 2,000 people, it’s a great place to get away.

3. Byron Bay, New South Wales

A little slice of paradise remains in Australia, with golden beaches and never ending sunshine. Located on the border of QLD and NSW, this gorgeous suburb is relaxed and as easy going as you’ll find. With houses available for short rentals this is a great spot to get away.

4. Mindil Beach, Darwin

This beach front suburb has a lot going on, it’s got a great vibe and sunsets that are magical. A great weekend getaway as it provides a laid back environment and is a little different from the major cities you would normally visit.

5. Waitpinga, South Australia

Known as a wine county and for unbelievable food, Waitpinga is SA’s answer to all of the food snob suburbs across Australia. Less than an hour out of the CBD of Adelaide, you will be able to sit on golden beaches and bathe in the crystal clear water.

Where to eat: Try Au Pear, fresh and flavoursome Mediterranean food that also specialises in produce from the land.
