"North Sydney is a bustling suburb"

North Sydney is a bustling suburb located just 3 kilometers north of Sydney's central business district. Its prime location offers residents unparalleled access to urban amenities and employment opportunities, making it a highly sought-after residential area. Commuting to the city is incredibly convenient, with various transportation options available, including trains, buses, and even walking or cycling for those who prefer an active commute. Travel times to the CBD typically range from 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the mode of transportation. North Sydney is situated within close proximity to several reputable schools in neighboring suburbs. These include primary schools, secondary schools, and prestigious private schools, providing families with a range of educational options for their children. Additionally, North Sydney's accessibility to the city allows for easy access to tertiary institutions and educational resources.
Despite being a bustling urban center, North Sydney offers residents access to several parks and recreational facilities, providing opportunities for outdoor recreation and relaxation. The iconic North Sydney Oval, located in the heart of the suburb, hosts various sporting events and community activities throughout the year. Additionally, nearby parks such as St Leonards Park and Waverton Park offer green spaces for picnics, leisurely strolls, and family gatherings. North Sydney is renowned for its vibrant dining scene, offering residents an array of cafes, restaurants, and eateries to explore. The suburb's bustling commercial district, along with nearby streets such as Miller Street and Blues Point Road, is lined with a diverse range of dining establishments serving cuisines from around the world. Whether you're craving Italian, Asian, Mediterranean, or modern Australian cuisine, North Sydney has something to satisfy every palate.

Looking for a home in North Sydney?

"Sydney's best apartment suburb (for the privileged few)"

I have not doubt in saying that for the those who are looking for apartment living (and the privileged few that can afford it), North Sydney is the BEST suburb in Sydney (singles, couples, down-sizers, retirees, students, everyone!). North Sydney train station is incredibly well serviced (trains every 3min at peak hour and approximately every 5min for all other hours from 5am till midnight), and also has a new Metro station opening that will connect directly with Barangaroo and Chatswood at similar frequencies). The suburb is the most convenient suburb in Sydney with respect to all major employment hubs (i.e City, Chatswood, St Leonard, Macquarie Park, Mascot and North Sydney itself) and if you do work in Olympic Park or Parramatta, you will enjoy the express train to yourself every day as you travel against the traffic. The suburb has all major supermarkets (Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and IGA), multiple chemists, doctors and dentists, all top 10 bank branches, as well as dozens of food courts and fast food outlets. The CBD shuts down at 7pm every night and you won't hear a thing as you sleep. The streets are amazingly clean and leafy, EVERYTHING is new or refurbished, the streets are brilliantly lit and there is virtually no crime, antisocial behaviour or dark areas. Council plans to pedestrianise the main Miller Street which will be amazing. Residents and workers in the suburb are mostly from professional backgrounds, so the streets feel pleasant and behaved. What makes North Sydney amazing is the great suburbs around it (Lavender Bay, Milsons Point, McMahons Point and Kirribilla for all of Sydney's iconic attractions, nature and parks galore, Crows Nest and Chatswood for all your food/Asian grocery/dining and department stores, and St Leonards for the Royal North Shore Hospital). What's great is North Sydney doesn't have the tourists or crowds these other suburbs attract, but North Sydney has access to all the benefits with a short walk or 5 minute train. North Sydney is home to many of Sydney's top performing and prestigious schools with many frequently making the top 10. The apartment housing stock in North Sydney comprises of new luxury builds by the top tier developers, or high quality solid older builds which are always maintained well by their strata committees and tightly held. Apartment stock is limited however, with the majority of North Sydney zoned commercial thus restricting new stock, as well as restrictions on new residential parking by the council. It is likely that this very limited supply will make the suburb an enclave only for a very privileged few over the next decade. I have been renting in North Sydney for approximately 1 year and aiming to purchase in the next year to avoid missing out on this superb area.

"Great suburb"

I’ve been living here for two and a bit years. Best place to live hands down. So close to
everything and work is just around the corner. My gym Plus Fitness is literally at my doorstep and it’s 24/7. One of the biggest perks is Lavender Bay. It’s just beautiful. I highly recommend this suburb.

"Primarily a working suburb, conveniently located and surrounded by beauty"

Lived here for 12 months. A very convenient and safe suburb with a variety of options for travelling in and around the city. With McMahons Point walking distance (ferry), a bus route that is one stop over the harbour bridge and a train station, you really are spoiled for choice. Primarily a suburb packed with offices you will find the weekends extremely quiet in the centre of North Sydney however there are numerous options for eating out towards McMahons Point, Crows Nest and Milsons Point. Lots of well rated schools nearby and you are not far from St Leonards Royal North Shore Hospital. Nightlife at Greenwood plaza is popular on a Thursday night and Friday night is usually packed full of business professionals in most bars/clubs. Cost of living is actually quite low if you own a property or find a good rental. Aldi is located in the centre and transport costs are low to get around the city.

"Better than the CBD"

It's like a mini CBD except with more green, less crowds, more fresh air and better food.
Love it!

"Sleeper suburb!"

Many people think of North Sydney as the CBD alone, but the CBD is surrounded by some of the best living in Sydney. If you work in the city you are spoilt for choice when it comes to transport. Trains and buses are constant. On a nice day walk to work across our great bridge. Stroll to nearby restaurants at Blues Point Road, Crows Nest or Neutral Bay, or stay in North Sydney itself with a great variety of restaurants and good pubs. Everything is walking distance in this suburb. There are great shops at Greenwood Plaza, Walker Street, Neutral Bay or Crows Nest for all your grocery needs or late night requirements.

Visit the great markets near the North Sydney council on Friday nights and Saturdays. Parks are plentiful with North Sydney oval and Cammeray park perfect for kids and families, or take a leisurely stroll to the harbour. Until living here, I never appreciated just how fantastic this suburb is! I simply love it and can't think of living any where else. Totally converted, and love the fantastic lifestyle this suburb offers.

"A great place to live for young professionals"

If you work in North Sydney or even in Sydney, North Sydney is a fantastic place to be. It is well connected by public transport - both buses and trains service this suburb. It is also a quick ten minutes' bus ride into the city. Most people who live on North Sydney find that there is plenty to do in North Sydney and you do not really need to go into the city.

North Sydney is home to many corporations and large organisations. It is the second largest business district in the whole of Sydney. There are malls, boutiques, shops, plenty of restaurants, cafes and pubs to cater for everyone's needs. This convenience does come with a price and you can expect to pay top dollars in rent in North Sydney. Despite the exorbitant prices, it has not deterred demand and people are often on waitlists for rental apartments in North Sydney.

North Sydney is recommended if you like the convenience of being close to work and do not mind the daily hustle and bustle of this high energy city.
