"Great place to live with many Parks, Lakes and Picnic Areas. Central to everything and only 5-10 minute drive to the City."

I have lived here since 2003 and love it, its so close to everything. Central for shopping with only minutes to major shopping centres, like Tea Tree Plaza, Ingle Farm Shopping Centre, Newton, Northpark Shopping Centre or only 8 kilometres to the city, transport is great and you can catch the bus in the heart of Northgate. Also if you wish to shop more locally then you have the choice of Northgate Village Shopping Centre, Greenacres, Gilles plains and Windsor Gardens and not to mention Clearview Post office, Deli, pet food Centre down the road.
Dining locally we have Veloce Cafe at the Northgate Village shopping centre (great Coffee), over the road in the new Lightsview Estate we now have Urban Lights Cafe which offers some healthy eating options then down the road in Oakden (Sir Ross Smith Boulevard) we have the well known Lakeside cafe that offers picturesque surroundings and great food (they also do delivery), other local dining options are Oakden Central (Fosters Road), Grand North at Northfield (Grand Junction Rd), Enfield Hotel, The Windsor Hotel, The Hampstead Hotel and The Walkers Arms are all only minutes away.
Every summer along City View Boulevard in Lightsview (across the road form Northgate Village shopping centre) offers "The Freshview Market" which is open 8am -12pm Sundays, with fresh and organic produce and Little Seeds organic coffee..
If you prefer to entertain closer to home, then you have so many beautiful parks and lakes throughout Northgate, complete with built-in barbecues, playgrounds and adult fitness equipment.
Its all here, so why would you live anywhere else?
PS, All the residence are lovely and friendly they actually say hello when you walk past them in the street or shopping centre, Move to Northgate and fall in love! Cheers Anita Ferroli

Looking for a home in Northgate?

"A place which will never disappoint!"

Northgate is an inner north-eastern suburb located in metropolitan Adelaide and is situated only 15 minutes from the CBD. Northgate has plenty on store, and to begin with, the neighbours! They are extremely friendly, warm and sweet people - the type that you would trust that will bring in your bins or maintain your garden while your on holiday. Even a friendly conversation will be a regular occurrence! These people are true locals at heart.

Safety is not an issue in Northgate, and majority of the time, there is no such thing of crime happening in the area. The fact that there is literally no Housing Trust in Northgate makes things ease as you know you won't be living in or next to untidy and rude people. You will see plenty of people taking a lovely night for an evening stroll because its so safe, they don't need to live in fear in their own backyard and you will as well.

Northgate is very peaceful, as well as the neighbours, and there is hardly no disputes at any given time of the day/night or none at all. The area itself looks very tidy and garbage-free and even lush and green with all its amazing parks.

Parks and recreation in Northgate is all you can ask for, with a large parkland situated on Folland Avenue and Dumfries Avenue. A back entrance to the park on Northgate Parade makes convenience for local residents easy. At this parkland includes lots of walking and bike trails (so ideal for fitness lovers), a few gym equipments, and outdoor BBQ and eating area, a lake where ducks and pelicans can be seen and a playground. There are other parks spread out across Northgate, each offering at least a playground, a walking trail and some exercising equipment.

Shopping options in and around the area is fantastic, with the most local one being the Northgate Village Shopping Centre which has also been refurnished recently. It is rather quite small, but still offers a Woolworths supermarket, a bakery and a butcher, as well as a news agency, dining and eateries. Other shopping centres are also very central to Northgate, with Westfield Tea Tree Plaza at Modbury only 10 minutes away, Ingle Farm Shopping Centre only 5 minutes away, Gilles Plains Shopping Centre also 5 minutes away and the CBD that has everything you need, 15 minutes away! The shopping options of Northgate are basically endless!

Schools and childcare centres are excellent at serving the Northgate area, with St Paul's College, Cedar College, Hamstead Primary School, Blackfriars Priory School, or St Gabriel's Primary School. The local Northgate Childcare Centre offers toddlers a great experience.

Beaches are only located 25 minutes from Northgate, and while the nightlife here isn't all that spectacular, head down to the beaches or CBD for a great night out with your friends or family.

In conclusion, Northgate is a very well-maintained community with no crime, no rude people and has everything in close proximity such as schools and shops. Always peaceful and lush, the people are warm and friendly, always starting lovely conversations with each other and a sense of community feel is awesome!

There are plenty of 'rude' people that don't live in housing trust. What an obtuse thing to say.

"Modern and New... just a great place to live."

I have lived in Northgate's lightsview precinct for 18months now and it really is a great place to live. There is easy access to public transport. The city is just 10 minutes away! There are shops walking distance with some great cafes just streets away. It is a great suburb with great people. Lots of parks for kids (big kids too). The bbq at the local park has become the place that my friends and I catch up on a weekend. Really great. Will be beautiful when it has all finished.

"Wonderful place to love so close to the city yet affordable!"

Northgate has everything for everyone. Great parks, trails, lakes, wildlife, shopping, schools and all so close to the city. It literally takes only 10 minutes to drive into Adelaide from our Northgate house. The streets are wide, the houses are high quality and it is incredibly quiet and safe. We moved to Northgate from a more expensive suburb and love it here more!

"It doesn't get much better than Northgate"

1. Attractive homes and gardens - lovely blend of modern and traditional
2. Friendly couples and families - great sense of community
3. Wide tree-lined streets
4. Plenty of parks (parks, oval, fitness parks, BBQ)
5. Easy access to city (10 kms, bus stops to city)
6. Easy access to shopping (Northgate Shopping Centre to walk to with cafe, bakery, Woolworths, etc.)
7. Great schools - Cedar College in the heart of the development

For fitness lovers... easy drive to beach, easy drive to parks such as Thorndon Park Reserve and Morialta Conservation Park, among others.

"A new and exciting suburb"

Northgate is quite a unique suburb. All the homes are modern, the streets are wide, which is great when friends and family come visiting. The suburb has attracted both young families and retirees into the area. When the children were home it was good in that they could catch a bus a go to Uni without relying on us to pick them up and drop them off. Going to the local shopping centre is always a pleasure because you always meet someone who lives locally and you can go into the local cafe and have a chat and a coffee. There is nothing better than going for a walk around the lakes as the sun comes up or at dusk and just watch the abundant bird life, its a very calming feeling, there are people taking their dogs for a walk, jogging or exercising on the Gym equipment in the park.

"A great place for young professionals and families"

Northgate is a newer area, with well landscaped gardens and a lot of parks and playground.

There are a lot of parks close by providing wide open spaces for playing football, cricket or flying a kite. The playgrounds are top notch and kids love them. On top of this throughout Northgate there are exercise stations that have public access exercise equipment in good condition for you to use.

Nortgate shops provide a spot to get movies, hardwarre, groceries and have a meal. While Greenacres, Ingle farm, Gilles Plains, Windsor Gardens and Tea Tree Plaza not far away.

Some parts of Northgate gives you a clear view of the city lights which is a beautiful sight.

Nortgate is well serviced by public transport with buses running regularly into the city. Cycling into the city is easy as well, and will take 20-30 minutes depending on how fast you ride. It is a safe ride too with well marked bike lanes the whole way.

The houses in Northgate are new and blend well with each other and are all new. The block sizes are small but houses are placed well on blocks effectively using the space. However, with so many parks and public spaces available who needs a big backyard?

I looked at a number of houses in Northgate before purchasing my perfect house in a nearby suburb. This gives me access to all Northgate has to offer.
