Reviews of O'Halloran Hill, SA

"A place to call home..."

O'Halloran Hill is such a homely and beautiful place to live. It is the perfect mix of being close to the city, beaches and country. It also has a great neighbourly/community vibe.

We have some excellent/convenient ammenities close by from coffee shops, fruit and veg, boutique fitness studios, medical centre, butcher etc. The Victoria Hotel has also just been renovated (looks modern and stylish), has awesome food and is a fun local hangout. O'Halloran Hill is surrounded by greenery and has some pretty walking and bike riding tracks - you just need to know where to go!

Some exciting new developments are also underway which will make O'Halloran Hill an even more desirable place to live and work: the Glenthorne National Park (Adelaides second metropolitan national park), the opening of the Happy Valley Reservoir Reserve where you will be able to walk and kayak etc., and I've heard there is even a gin distillery opening up here soon!

Surrounding the suburb we have experienced quicker travel times into the CBD with the finalisation of the Darlington Overpass. There is also a new Bunnings at Reynella too!

I really love living here and it's a great place for young people and families. Give O'Halloran Hill a few more years to develop, and there will be even more to do and enjoy in the area. It really is a gem and somewhere I love to call home!

Looking for a home in O'Halloran Hill?

"Can’t wait to move back to O’Halloran Hill"

I loved living in O’Halloran Hill for 3 years as a young professional and have missed it ever since I moved away as it is such a beautiful, peaceful and friendly suburb. It’s close to the beaches, shopping at Marion and I can get into the city in about half an hour so makes for a really convenient place to live. It’ll be an even quicker commute into town once the Darlington Upgrade Project is complete very soon! I loved it so much, I can’t wait to move back and buy in the area!

"YOU WISH YOU LIVED HERE.."

I have lived in O'halloran hill for 10 years and i love this suburb. The people are great always friendly. Like how nice suburbs were back when i was a child where neighbors all look out for each other. It is a beautiful character suburb with lots of trees and wildlife. I've had families of ducks waddle through my front yard and even had a visit from a koala in one of my trees. I couldnt recomend it any more and having lived in the region between corromandel valley and woodcroft for all but 3 yrs of my life O'halloran hill may not have the marketing prestige of the eastern hills but it has something better.... it it's where people call HOME.

"Adelaide's best kept secret"

We didn't know a lot about O'Halloran Hill until we were looking to buy in nearby areas. When we went to the open inspection for our (now) home, we couldn't believe how leafy, lovely and green the suburb was and we were amazed that although we had driven past it thousands of times, we had never actually driven through it. That is the beauty of O'Halloran Hill - it is quiet and safe because people don't drive through it unless they have a reason. We love living here - it's easy to get to the city for work, and shops at the Hub and Marion are minutes away. The beach is also a short drive. A great family area and our dog and kids love the park. It's also great when friends and family come from interstate, it's close to the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale.

"We love living here!!"

When we were first looking at buying a property, someone suggested O'Halloran Hill and I resisted the idea before really knowing too much about it. We found the perfect home here (and it is still really affordable), that very well could be our forever home. So much value for money!!

Since living here, I realise that O'Halloran Hill is a best kept secret as not many people know how amazing the suburb is. I feel safe, it is quite, the people are really friendly and say hello when we are out walking our dog. From a shopping point of view, it really has everything you need and is so close to Marion, the beach and less than 30mins to the city. I am really happy here and I'm looking forward to seeing the suburb develop even more over the years. We are so glad we decided to call this place our home.

Rentals in O'Halloran Hill

"Quiet, safe and friendly with parks and amenities close by"

I've lived in the area for several years and consider it the best place in Adelaide to live. No crime, very safe, nice and clean with shops and public transport close by and only a very short drive to Westfield Marion or the beach at Seacliff.

Easy access to South Road heading in any direction so travel to and from home is easy with travel to the Adelaide Hills through the back route of Cherry Gardens takes less time than travel to the city with the bonus being a lovely country drive just around the corner from home. Not far from Clarendon and the wineries at McLaren Vale so great for those visitors or just a day out.

Would highly recommend this area for anyone wanting a nice easy lifestyle in a suburb close to every thing.

"Main South Road - The heartbeat of the community"

Like with every suburb, you'll usualy find one area that contains the shopping/retail opportunities. Main South Road (Eastern side) is the place to shop in O'Halloran Hill. There are a number of streets that intersect with this shopping precinct from within the suburb - streets like Sun Valley Road, Resthaven Road and The Lane. This allows residents easy access to the businesses on Main South Road.

You'll find practically everything you need in the belt of shops - from hot cooked chickens, fishing tackle, pizza's, clothing, pet products to the well stocked supermarket and convenient petrol station. It's a well known fact that the O'Halloran Hill shopping district is a great place to stop off to and from journeys to the city for southern reseidents, meaning there is a steady flow of clients for the shops to prosper from.

I'm always impressed by the tidy nature of the shop front presentation, smiling shop owners and great prices - even at the petrol station! Convenient, friendly and a wide variety of shops makes Main South Road O'Halloran Hill a handy location to know about.

"O'Halloran Hill - a great place to live"

The first thing to realise about O'Halloran Hill is that it's 'locked' in by three major roads, creating a limited number of residential properties. The exclusive nature of this means anyone living in O'Halloran Hill will truly enjoy the peaceful nature the suburb has to offer.

Traffic flow is low, streets are easy to navigate and best of all it's serviced by a group of shops that is well structured and easily accessed.

There are a great number of tree's in O'Halloran Hill, as well as some generous parkland area's. The playing fields on Candy's Road are great for families, social tennis or just walking your four legged friends.

This is a great neighbourhood, and anyone contemplating life on 'The Hill' will really enjoy the lifestyle that awaits. I rate this suburb of the souths best, but then again, with a last name like mine I guess I am a bit biased!
