"Palmy Paradise"

Bought here early in the pandemic. We were told we paid too much, but it doubled in price in twelve months.
Neighbours are super friendly & our street is very quiet. Close to the beach & shopping area.

"Best place of the Gold Coast"

For me the place to be on the Gold Coast.
It is far away enough to enjoy a relaxed lifestyle but close enough to have access to the hub areas of the Gold Coast.
Upcoming suburb with amazing cafes, bars and more and more restaurants!
It is very great for people with pets as it has an amazing dog beach, it is LGBTQ friendly, beautiful tallebudgera creek to swim in and a friendly community.

"Location with an Upmarket & trendy feel...."

Palm Beach would have to be one of the secret Gems of the Gold Coast! It is moving up the ranks in terms of location & design. This is the perfect suburb to pick up a renovator and make some serious profit - or settle down with the family. The trending cafe's and bars are popping up by the dozen, and not to mention the pristine beaches at your front door.

"Laguna Lake, Palm Beach Q - the best of all possible locations on the Gold Coast"

Laguna Lake, Palm Beach, Queensland - friendly community, caring residents, laid back style, green and clean surroundings, great little cafes, choice of schools, supermarkets, shopping complexes, hospitals and health support, good schools and universities within reach with easy access to domestic and international airport, train, bus and major transport routes.
We lived there and commuted to Sydney and elsewhere to work for years.
There's the choice of nearby surf beach, lagoon or estuary for swimming and water sports within walking distance.
I often walk in the dog-friendly park at Laguna Lake and many families bring their children to play and picnic there.
From our experience look for properties built to or above modern standards of energy efficiency, water-proofing and classic interior finishing as these will retain their value.

Great for

  • Location +++++
  • Abundant choices for all amenities and essential services
  • Friendly, affordable and ideal for healthy outdoors activities and lifestyle

Not great for

  • Some carbon on paintwork from wind blowing across motorway.
  • The breeze across the lake can be quite cool in winter.

"Love the southern pocket at 'Palmy'"

Moved to the southern pocket of Palm Beach near Currumbin Creek a year ago from inner Brisbane and absolutely love it. My wife takes our young daughter to the beach almost daily and we get full use from the beach, creek and lovely parks on weekends. Shops, parks, coffee shops, schools, ect, everything we (a young family) need are so close.

"The Gold Coast's best beach residential secret"

Yes I should not tell the world or they will all want a piece of Palm Beach. Great community, great neighbours where everyone looks out for everyone. After living here for nearly eight years I finally could afford a mortgage. I have moved around the Palm beach area in three different houses and each and every street I have lived in the longer term residents and there are plenty of them are warm friendly and inviting. I have lived from Tassie to Townsville and west of that as well and I have never felt more at home or welcome than I do here at Palm Beach. It is true it is not without problems but no town is. The truth is it really is the Gold Coasts best place to live. Not too many tourists, and I would never knock the tourists as they add millions to the economy but if you are looking for somewhere quiet but want to be on the Gold Coast, outside the hinterland you probably could not do much better.

"One of the best spots on the gold coast"

Having lived in Palm beach for a fw years now i have seen the improvements and investment from both home owners and council. Park areas along the beach, low rise, access to all facilities, easy access to motorways all without the hussle and bussle of surfers - great place for families and retirees.

Awesome beach, great parks, excellent fishing
Good value
Negatives - mixed demographic between waterfronts and land properties make it a bit two tiered

"Friendly place with great beaches and parks"

I have lived on Palmy Ave for 6 years and absolutely love the place. The people who live in the area are friendly and down to earth. Most people in our street know each other and this provides an added sense of security. The area seems to be in transition and some of the social problems the area had previously have gone. There is a lot of renovation and new buildings going up in the area giving the area a cleaner look. There is a real residential feel - not touristy at all which is what I like.

There are plenty of community and social sporting clubs in the area to get involved in and the local surf clubs provide great casual meals. We eat out regularly on weekends for breakfast and there are several good cafes in the area - fewer restaurants for dining in the evening but we will sometimes catch the bus to go to Burleigh or Broadbeach.

The beaches are clean and easily accessed. I love the two dog areas where you can take your dogs to play on the beach and the parks.

I wouldn't live anywhere else.

"North Palm Beach - A Top Place To Live"

I lived in North Palm beach for a number of years until work commitments dragged me away and I am counting down the days until I can get back there! It has everything at your doorstep, beautiful beaches, schools, supermarkets etc without being 'too big' like Burleigh has become. Where I lived was calm with easy access to the Gold Coast highway and M1 motorway and quite frankly I couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended for young couples and families who would like to live on the Coast but without the 'crazy' rental and purchase prices that some other parts of the Goldie have.

"North Palm Beach is ideal for families"

North Palm Beach is one of the best spots on the Gold Coast, with a huge sand dune protecting it from any harmful erosion. It is also very safe because there are no pubs within 2 kilometres and mostly families living in the area. My family love night walks along the beach and always feel safe. Tallebudgera Beach is patrolled all year round and Tallebudgera Creek is another fantastic option for families. There is a beach front walkway from 23rd avenue all the way to and through Burleigh National Park. We have lived here since moving from Sydney in 2006 and we intend to live at North Palm Beach forever because of its great laid back lifestyle and friendly neighbours.

"Lock your doors and buy crimsafe!"

Palm Becah is located in a idylic spot on the shores of the Gold Coast. Although problems form the top end down. Owners of multi million dollar homes losing there land from the sea take back the sand. Then you have criminals robbing and assualting in palm beach currumbin beachside.

Not a place that i rate highly!

Palm Beach happens to be one of the lower suburbs of the Gold Coast, second worst only to Labrador. There seems to be a high exposure to shady characters. Run. Run as fast as you can and don't look back

MDOT

I have lived and worked in Palm Beach since 1974 and through the years there has been a big shift in the quality of the area. As you drive around you see renovation, new homes being built, shops being built, resorts being built and other resorts on the drawing board multi million dollar water front homes people are spending up big time in Palmy.
It is all good in my opinion and we would not live any where else, check out Tallebudgera creek and Currumbin creek the beachs are brilliant.

PALM BEACH YOU CANT GO WRONG ENJOY IT!!!

Palmy

When on earth did u live in Palm Beach. Have been there since 2000 and have seen none of the crims u have encountered!

Byres

The Esplanade is the beachfront street at the Tallebudgera Beach section of Palm Beach (north of 21st avenue groyne). Residents are very happy, relaxed people.

Palmy

Try not to take ArtherKnight comments too seriously, if u look at his profile he rates every street as terrible. Time to try a new city Arthur perhaps!!

I think the wrong area has been reviewed, i'm not sure where Palm Becah is but i think Palm Beach is great. I've only been here just over 12 months but have been visiting since i was a kid an have not seen any of the problems listed above.

Palm Beach has some good areas, yes, however it also has alot of bad areas, especially in the middle of Palm Beach. There is also alot of Community Housing throughout Palm Beach, and sadly alot of those areas are not nice at all. When we first moved to the area, we called the police after having our front door almost kicked in by a neighbour (holiday unit, neighbour was drunk and angry), after listening for hours while the other neighbour abused her young son for hours, and when they arrived almost 3 hours later (despite being 500m down the road) we were told they were flat out as usual, and this happens alot of the time and is due to the high amount of housing commission, centrelink recipitents, and high crime rate but since its a holiday destination its kept quiet. We moved to a ddifferent section in a security gated complex near Tallebudgera and our neighbours in the complex are lovely..... the housing units around the area are not. Palm Beach has alot of units, its that type of place and you get what you pay for. If you are willing to pay higher prices for higher standards, you will be fine although to be fair, there are some areas (not many) where its nice despite the low costs. The local school is ok however Elanora, Currumbin or Tallebudgera schools are all much better than Palm Beach. The local school does not cater well at all for children with special needs and despite saying they are an anti bullying school, they do not actually do much about it at all. Sadly after a year of constant ongoing bullying that despite many complaints has not been dealt with, we had to go to Qld Education and also move our childelsewhere. We were even told by an Education Officer that Palm Beach School shoukd be the last choice when considering a school. Having said this, there are other families who are lucky enough to not have had issues and are quite happy there. There are alot of beautiful areas, parks etc around the area, but be warned, the beaches are severly eroded and local council unwilling to correct this any time soon. If you want a good family friendly, safe area to raise your children, you are better to head to areas such as Currumbin, Tugun etc and Iif you want an honest opinion, walk in to the local police station and ask them for their honest opinion about Palm Beach, both before and after dark. Obviously these are my beliefs and opinions on the area and will not be shared by everyone.

Hi all, can anyone advise where / which streets the Community Housing is please? Thanks, Laura

jog6

i too would love to know where the community housing is ? and which are best/worst areas of palm beach (for a family)? Thanks :)

amandac29

new to site and having problems asking questions. Would also seem a lot of real estate agents on this site so vested interest . What are the safer streets in Palm Beach? Is Miami a better area ? Streets in Miami? Burleigh too $$$$ so looking at surrounding areas preferably non drug dealers streets . Suggestions appreciated. Thx

bananazd

I would like to move to Palmy having recently moved from sunny coast to Broadbeach but knowing its not where we want to be. Not as family friendly and a bit too much of an anonymous urban feel. On the couple of occasions I have visited Palmy I have noticed some druggie types on the highway itself but other than that I think its a great spot and perfectly situated.

joelh13

I lived in Palmy for 5 yrs and loved every minute! While there's some riff raff (isn't there everywhere?) it's not as bad as the rest of the coast. Location is great, in the middle of the coast, yet unaffected by the craziness of either end. Anyone who complains about Palmy doesn't deserve to live there!
