Any recommendations for a good real estate agent in Port Melbourne?

Looking to buy, anyone had good experiences?

Try Hocking Stuart...big company and seems to have lots of listings. Bought and sold our previous place with them and they were very professional and helpful. Biggin Scott is also big in Port but don't seem to advertise the "estimated" prices anymore. Must be due to the strictness with overquoting properties. We bought our current place through them but weren't overly impressed.

We found that you should budget 20% over the quoted price to have a chance at auction. Unfortunately, Melbourne is one of the cities in Australia that prices aren't dropping!

Try and go to as many open houses and auctions as possible to get an idea of the process. Can be entertaining too! You can sign up to email lists on sites like www.domain.com.au and www.realestate.com.au and enter your search criteria. They'll send you automatic emails with properties that suit.

Thanks vicpow, great advice. Would never use Biggin & Scott again after some disastrous experiences with property they managed for us in St Kilda East.
