Ramsgate Beach is located 16 kilometres south of the Sydney City.

The staff at Rockdale Council take great pride in maintaining the prominent landscaping in Ramsgate beach and further improving landscaping and footways along the foreshore.

We are seeing more buyers coming from the eastern suburbs making Ramgsate Beach their new home suburb due to the attraction of the area, convenience to the city, Beaches, outdoor cafes, and European cosmopolitan living.

Ramsgate Beach is a great place to invest, for first home buyers, families, retirees, professionals and singles, who would rather live in a beach side suburb close to the city, with good opportunity for future capital growth, more so to just move in the area and to start to enjoy Bay Side Living, just as I do.

Ramsgate is a very colorful suburb, in spring the local council plants beautiful flowers up and down the main strip which highlights the blue water back drop.
Housing is very affordable for a beachside suburb and locals enjoy the cafe lifestyle that Ramsgate shopping village provides, as you drive down Ramsgate road the suburb is a hype of activity with locals and visitors enjoying the park, beach and shopping facilities all central in this quaint family orientated suburb.
I have sold many property’s in Ramsgate in my time, including units, villas, homes and even vacant land, 2009 has been a good year for Ramsgate with substantial gains in property values witnessed as opposed to previous years.
If you are looking for an affordable sea change Ramsgate could be the area for you!

The only reviews so far are from real estate agents, who of course are going to talk the place up, and who believes a word of what they say anyway? Their credibility rating is below that of politicians.

Ramsgate Beach is a lovely beach - it's part of that long white stretch of sand from Brighton around to Dolls Point - and it's a great place to swim, picnic and walk and for kids to play. That's the best part about Ramsgate. 10 out of 10 for that.

Ramsgate has beautiful gum trees and a prolific native bird population. Big plus for that.

The busy streets - Rocky Pt Rd, Ramsgate Rd, Chuter Ave and the coast road, are really busy and noisy. Otherwise Ramsgate has many quiet streets.

Housing standards vary enormously. There are old fibro free-standing homes, ugly 60s-style apartment buildings, blocks of retirement villas, and an increasing number of McMansions.

Lots of retirees live here. Five minutes at the local shops will show you that. Ramsgate is sometimes called pensioner peninsula.

We've had a friendly neighbourhood experience, and a very unfriendly neighbourhood experience. A lot of elderly people stick to themselves, which doesn't make Ramsgate feel friendly or connected.

There's some eclectic retail shopping on Rocky Pt Rd, the boutiques are European concepts and very good.

Overall, Ramsgate has potential. But a vibrant community, it isn't.

Ideally located in a friendly precinct with numerous attractions so whatever your fancy you will be more than delighted in this neighbourhood. You will find a mixture of properties with a high concentration of villas making it the ideal spot for first home buyers, down-sizers, empty nesters & retirees.
Ramsgate and Ramsgate Beach was named after a seaside resort in England.
It features two shopping strips in the area, one being on Rocky Point Road, near the intersection where you can grab a great cocktail or $6 steak & chips!!! The other is located at Ramsgate Beach, on Ramsgate Road, here you will find numerous attaractions including Coles, Ramsgate RSL Club, Gyms, Cafe Amalfi & Ramsgate Seafood shop. All in all a happening suburb that wont disappoint.
