Reviews of Regency Downs, QLD

"large yards -but just a drive away from facilities"

We've lived here as a young family for 9 years now,and have grown up in the surrounding valley.Being close to plainland, and the development of this area we've enjoyed seeing this area grow-which it continues to do .We like that our family have a roomy yard /garden and plenty of space for our children to be kids.Close to highway for travel to Brisbane/Ipswich and Toowoomba. But tranquility of the country.
Doctors /dentist /pathology/ pharmacy/Woolworths /fast foods/pub /hairdresser and some specialty shops are just a drive down the road.Bus services for Public and private primary and high schools in surrounding areas.

Looking for a home in Regency Downs?

"Great place to live and bring up a family. Very affordable and nice to know your neighbours."

We have lived here for 7 years with our family and it is fantastic. Facilities are improving all of the time. We have 2 Doctors surgeries, a dentist, QML and a chemist. There is a Woolworths shopping centre that is now open 7 days and an Eagle Boys Pizza outlet with home delivery. There is also a specialty butchers over the road combined with more shops. There is a travel centre with a Coffee Club, KFC, Hungary Jacks and Subway. There is a fantastic pub that does excellent meals on the deck or inside. There are markets every sunday.

There are numerous schools in the area and they are big enough but not too big that you just become a number. Our whole family loves it here and the blocks are big enough that there is always something to do and time for a chat with your neighbours if you want to.

We have always felt safe here and know all of our neighbours but none are intrusive. When we go away there is always someone more than willing to look after our pets and to water the garde

"heaven for motorbike, hell for everyone else"

if you love listening to noisy motorbikes all day this is the place for you, if you dont care how fast people drive and kill native animals you'll love living here. However if you do complain about the motorbikes expect to have your property damaged or your animals injured. The local motorbike riders run Regency Downs and no one in aurthority will do anything about it. Your shopping is limited so prices are what ever they want, only eating out is junk food, and the council wont keep the street clean and tidy, if you dont mow the nature stip is stays overgrowen. Forget about being safe 5 houses were broken into in one street in one month (still no one charged). Properties are overgrowen and snakes are everywhere. There are no parks or recreation facilities the only thing you get from the council is you bin emptied weekly and you may have to pick most of it up of the street as the person driving the truck cant be bothered if it goes in the truck or not. This is the worst place to buy and you wont sell in a hurry.

this is the biggest pack of drivel I have read so far here. What do you expect from someone who lives rural, then whines there is nowhere to eat out? lol And complains about snakes? ha ha The poster doesnt seem to understand the diffrence between rural and city living!

There are parks if you actually LOOK! Most properties are tidy. Renters usually dont mow a lot - so whats new?

Prices at Woolies are the same as anywhere else. Petrol at Rustys is often cheaper than in Brisbane.

Get a clue!

Is it true about the bikes?

bill_smith

Not really. It sporadic in all rural areas , but nearly everyone doesnt want their back yard turned into a bike track, and the dust that goes with it. If it does happen, ts usually a passing thing and the kids give it up eventually. Do your due diligence as usual, and check out the neighbours when buying/renting a place to avoid ratbags.

Thank you :)
