"Suburbia"

Rosetta is a completely suburban suburb in the Glenorchy municipality. The nearest services are located in Glenorchy. Just like many suburbs in Hobart, it is largely car-dependent. Generally low-socioeconomic but considered one of the safer suburbs located within Glenorchy municipality.

"Very. underated!!"

A while ago I moved to rosetta and it's a pretty good area. its only 15 mins to the city and 5 mins to northgate. so its fairly close to shops but far enuogh away that it's nice and quiet to be in.

I was shocked when i realsied Rosetta is cheap but profitble . I was able to find a nice red brick here without spending alot, which is kinda rare since its so close to shops. the neighbours here are very nice & welcoming, which makes it a nice place to live or rent out.

theres alot of nice parks, playgrounds & schools and if i want I can always go to the city for some more stuff to do

im really happy with my desision to move to rosetta. Its a good deal and a good invesment for anyone looking for a nice place to live or develop & rent out

All Up its a good area and very underaeted.

"Beautiful area to live in"

As a long-time resident of Rosetta, I can honestly say that this suburb has been my home for the last 6 years. When I first moved here, I fell in love with the area and its charm, which is why I decided to purchase an older home in the neighbourhood.

One of the things I appreciate most about living in Rosetta is its proximity to Montrose Bay, where I can take a relaxing stroll on weekends and soak up the beautiful scenery. Another highlight of the area is Moorilla, a nearby winery that I enjoy visiting for a glass of wine from time to time.

Compared to other suburbs like New town and Lenah Valley, Rosetta is more affordable yet still has that classic character with older homes. I cannot recommend this suburb enough - it truly is a hidden gem!

"Simply Amazing Place To Live!!"

Rosetta is a truly remarkable suburb that captivates the heart of anyone who sets foot in it. A place where time seems to stand still and peace and tranquility reign supreme. As a long-time resident, I can confidently attest to its irresistible charm and unique allure that has made me fall in love with it over and over again. This picturesque neighborhood is simply the perfect place to call home, and I would never dream of leaving. The convenience of having every essential amenity within walking distance, including shops, petrol stations, supermarkets, doctors, bike track, , MONA (OMG please visit MONA!) chemists, childcare, and my kids' schools, is unmatched. And if that's not enough, the breathtaking Montrose Bay, which is a stone's throw away, is a sight to behold, and its beauty never fades. Living in Rosetta is truly a dream come true!

"Safe and Quiet"

Rosetta surprised me. I moved to the area from the country and was pleased that it has so many things, so nearby. A bakery, Mona and it's winery, primary and high school, bus routes for schools, and parks where you can walk the dog are all right on your fingertips. Plus, the bike track. It always feels safe to live here. Happy resident.

"Friendly Rosetta with beautiful views"

Great place to live. It is quiet and peaceful- I have lived here since 2005. Homes nicely kept, good neighbours and stunning water views to MONA. 15 mins to the city via Brooker Hwy. Well serviced with major supermarkets in Glenorchy 5 mins drive down the road. Public transport could be better, best to have a car to get around.

"Nice Cheap Living Close to the City"

Rosetta is a nice inexpensive alternative for those who still want to live close to the city. It is considered to be one of the better suburbs in the Glenorchy region. It has fabulous views of the Derwent River from most vantage points and its only a 15 minute drive into town. It is also only minutes away from Northgate Shopping Centre, which is considered to be one of Tassie's largest.

Great for

  • Close to the City
  • Inexpensive housing
  • Family friendly

Not great for

  • Brooker Highway congestion
