"Nice but slow pace of life"

Avoid anywhere close to Ritchie St (Housing commission area). Walking to the beach and getting a coffee was the best part. Close to the airport and 30 mins by car to cbd. Unfortunately, the area is turning into duplex city. Lots of hoons of a night. Small Coles but there is one at Brighton or you could shop at Southgate and Miranda. You easily get in the habit of not leaving the area and we are still relatively young. So much better for retirement and a quieter pace of living.

We recently moved to Ritchie St and the housos are lovely, offering to help move furniture, invited us over for tea and enjoy a chat. At the bottom of the street are one of the ponds, with various water birds, fish and an eel. In the vacant lot, theres sometimes a horse that likes to greet you when passing by. All of this adds a bit of magic to our lives

Looking for a home in Sans Souci?

"Best Place Ever!"

I have live in lots of places here in Sydney. From West, City and Cronulla, Sans Souci is the best decision I made to buy a property. I love the location just walking distance from the Beach and Restaurants. Lots of friendly people and family oriented place. I will never go anywhere. Sans Souci is our home now..

"Waterside suburbia"

Sans Souci is surrounded by a lot of water and is in close proximity to many smaller shops on streets such as Rocky Point Road. It is a short bus ride away from Miranda Westfield and Kogarah station, which have many shops to satisfy pretty much all your needs. However, its a bus ride plus a train ride to the city which can be inconvenient for those relying upon public transport. It feels very suburban, and the lifestyle/atmosphere lacks a lot of character and creativity.

"Paradise in a big city"

We moved here with our kids just over 3 years ago and it was the best decision we've ever made.
Close to the city, eastern suburbs, beaches, cafe's, shopping and airport ( where I work) the best thing about Sans souci is the holiday feel that makes all worries dissapear. ( Sans souci is french for ` without worries`).
Surrounded by water on 3 sides Sans souci has good public schools and is close to St. George hospital. We think it is the best value suburb in Sydney and we wouldn`t live anywhere else.

Great for

  • Holiday feel
  • Friendly and hard working families
  • Great choice of restaurants
  • Close to both city, beaches and countryside
  • Good for walking and cycling
  • Handy for the Airports

"A family friendly residential area"

I started renting here in Feb 2012. The neighbours are friendly and once away from Rocky Point Road & Grand Parade, the traffic is relatively light. The bus service is okay but rail users would need to use Kogarah or Rockdale. It is safe to walk / cycle around with plenty of footpaths and cycleways. For me, the beach is a 5-10 minute stroll and plenty of families seem to use the beach. There is a good range of shops and restuarants. This increases with the short trip to Sutherland and Miranda, where there are plenty of shops available. Being so close to the Airports is one main factor in my choice. I looked at Kogarah and Dolls Point before renting this one. It is a lovely area, judging by the number of taxi drivers who also like to make the same comment. Happy to stay here for the next two years, which is the remainder of my contract here.

Great for

  • Close to both city, beaches and countryside
  • Good for walking and cycling
  • Handy for the Airports
  • Friendly and hard working families
  • Great choice of restaurants

Not great for

  • Traffic on main roads
  • No rail station

Rentals in Sans Souci

"A perfect place to live"

Having recently moved in this area Sans Souci, Sandringham and Dolls Point are 17 km south of the Sydney’s CBD and close to all express ways such as the M5 and the eastern distributor.

You will find some of the best eateries and just great living in this bay side area and Sans Souci is generally referred to as The Peninsula. Ramsgate Beach Shopping Village atmosphere is a great place for a coffee stop over lunch and dinner.

Great for retirees, families, couples which also attract buyers from the eastern suburbs.

Overall I rate Sans Souci a 10/10 + because San Souci is one of the most sought after suburbs commanding high prices in specific streets and since 1993 gained 15% annual capital growth with new sales record regularly being achieved for this area.

"A beautiful place to bring up a family"

Aside from the friendliness of the people in the Sans Souci area, the area is filled with hard working people who are striving for the best! This makes a great community and we have never been happier anywhere else. So many parks and beaches surround the area and they are all fantastic and make it a very entertaining place. We love Sans Souci and rate it very highly as an area with so much to offer....wide streets, peace and quiet, water views, good restaurants, great schools and lovely coffee shops.....a beautiful place!

"Been here for 25 years - going nowhere"

This is such a good place.

Sans Souci means "without worry or cares" in French - this is such a cool name for a suburb and it just adds to the great ambience and feel of the place. It is a quiet, safe and friendly residential area surrounded by water on 3 sides (Dolls Point, Sandringham and Sans Souci are really the same community) but straight through the middle of it is Rocky Point Road which is a "not too busy" collection of interesting and useful shops with a fantastic restaurant strip.

It is literally 5 minutes away from everything you need but far enough away be home. It is the gateway to the "Shire" which we also love - but much closer to the city airport etc - you can paddle at the beach, sit on a wharf - fabulous clubs around the waterfront.

Been here for 25 years - going nowhere.

"Eastern suburbs meets southern lifestyle"

From the French word meaning carefree, Sans Souci offers an all year round beachside lifestyle and all just approx 22km's out of the CBD. Nestled on the Southern most tip of the St. George Peninsula, it is surrounded by water and features some of the finest boating clubs in NSW. It is an excellent place to raise a family, enjoying a selection of affordable homes and palatial waterside residences. A selection of villas, units makes this the perfect choice for retiree or first home-buyer.
