No where! Kids are too noisy. Take them to MacDonalds.

MacDonalds? pffft. McDonald's is for desperate people with no love of cuisine. :(

Kids don't love cuisine, they love what the ads tell them to love. It's a constant battle with me on the blue side and McDonald's on the red side... unfortunately red is winning.

It's not exactly close but Birdy Num Nums in North Fitzroy is known for being a child friendly place full of yummy mummies having coffee.

Colombos, 250 Whitehorse Rd, Balwyn. A great family restaurant and not too expensive. AJ I'll try and ignore your comment as it's obvious you don't have any kids !
mrated kids will eat what you cook for them as long as you make it interesting and tasty. Too many parents give in to fatty take away too easily and that's why we have an obesity problem.....

In Doncaster - try Pancake Parlour or La Porchettas on Doncaster Road.

You could also try TGI Fridays at Doncaster Shoppingtown.

We've taken the kids to all three.

its almost local...but the veneto club is fantastic....there is an outdoor playground for the kids and the menu is great, its what i would consider modern italian...we frequent often the kids love it. We find its a great way for hubby and i to eat in peace as the kids are left to run outside...lol..

Do you need to be a member of the Veneto Club? I thought it was private? What sort of food? (buffet or menu?)

Thanks.

donny...you dont have to be a member..it is bistro style dining...but the menu presents very well....i consider it to be reasonably priced its not the cheapest but definately not too much either...i assure you the menu will please the most fussiest....theres a great variety...seafood, pasta, veal, steaks...etc
i think there is also like a more formal dining room upstairs...i havent been there the bistro suits my family to a T

Thanks Tempy!

Have you tried the Doncaster Hotel across from Shoppingtown or Cherry Hill (out back of Pines) lately?

It's been years since I have, they used to have good play areas for the kids.

"used to" being the key word....lol...Cherry hills playroom is great but the food is really crappy...last time we went would have been a couple of months ago now...but food was really bad on the 3 occassions prior to that....so we decided to not go again...
Ive never been to Hotel Shopping town...do thay have a playground there??...the last time i went there was in my single days to the famous venue 28...lol
The one on the corner of victoria street and doncaster road Thats Doncaster inn is hit and miss....but the play area is really small and i think its pretty dirty...jmo

Wow - that's great, I will definitely give it a try also. It's hard to go out with kids and feel comfortable these days.

It was years ago that I went, we often went to Pancake Parlour or TGI Fridays, or the old Billabong on Doncaster Rd. Also used to like the Keg before it became the Pavillion.

Great being able to talk with a fellow local.
