"Too far from facilities. Not a homogeneous suburb in terms of socio-economics."

"It is a small community"

It is a small community with a family-oriented living style. If you are not out for a major shopping experience, this is the best place to be. Everything is simple so it is a great place to relax.

"The Best Little South Coast Town"

We have lived in 'The Heads' for five years now and love it. This town has it all, great location, great people and a wonderful community spirit. You can get most things at our local shops and if you want the shopping mall experience Nowra is just 20 minutes away. We have been spoilt by this town and its surrounding beauty and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

"a well kept secret"

This little town is own of the best on the south coast. Situated on Seven Mile Beach and the Shoalhaven River it is fantastic for surfing, fishing, kayaking and all water sports. Only 10 minutes from Berry for shopping, cafe's and restaurants and 10 minutes to Gerringong. Nowra is about 15 minutes south and it is surrounded by lovely wineries. So even thought Shoalhaven Heads does not have heaps of restaurants it is surrounded by options that are only a 10 minutes away.
This suburb will never be built out like Shellhabour as it has defined boundaries and will always stay a size that will offer a village and community atmosphere. It has been a popular spot for retirees but is becoming more well known for Sydney sea changers as it is still only 90 minutes back to "the shire" on a great road that is now all expressway and is one of the prettiest drives in New South Wales - those rolling green hills and beaches.
It's worth a look before the word gets out and the prices go up....

Rentals in Shoalhaven Heads

"It's got the lot"

What a great place to live. Water sports galore with river access and seven mile beach. Fantastic sporting clubs that support golf, bowls, fishing and soccer. A community that welcomes new residents and holiday makers alike. Just 10 minutes from the hub of the Shoalhaven and just 90 minutes to Sydney. This is possibly the best place in NSW to live.

"Right by the beach and river"

Shoalhaven Heads is the perfect spot for an outdoor adventure holiday. This town is about a two hours' drive south from Sydney. It is conveniently located next to a beach and a river. From surfing to fishing and sunbathing, there is something to do for everyone. I camped there during Easter and had alot of fun. However, do take note that fleas and sandflies are notorious during the autumn months and a few of us got bitten quite severely.

There are a few shops and a bakery along Shoalhaven Heads Road. However, most of the times, we headed out to Gerroa or Gerringong for most of our supplies, as these are much bigger towns. There is also a bowling club around the area if you are up for some Bocce. I will definitely recommend this place for a weekend getaway and a place to retire to.
