"Great Place to Live"

We moved here from Melbourne and love this town!! It has enough comforts (pubs, recreation etc) but maintains that community feel. Everyone is extremely friendly and I imagine this is how people used to live being courteous and patient and taking the time to smell the roses.

We have a young son (18 months) and there is plenty of mothers groups and childcare (if required) in town for mum & young fella to meet similar folks. The scenary is amazing and if you love the outdoors you won't find a better spot in oz. Surfing, fishing, bushwalking, beaches or rivers this town has it all.

The first time we visited this town we knew we would live here and six months later we are. We visited over 40 coastal towns from Port Macquarie through to Kirra and this town was clearly the one for us. To be honest we can't believe this town isn't more well known (we'd travelled OZ extensively and had never heard of this area). Only time before people find out about it but the beauty is it cant grow too big as it is surrounded by National Parks and rivers, limiting development.

A beautiful town with great people and did I mention not 1 traffic light!!

"God’s Own Country"

This small seaside community would have to be one of the prettiest locations on Australia’s coast. Located on one of several rare north-facing bays, this fishing village of the past has grown into a pleasant home and holiday destination. South West Rocks has a modern Country Club, several motels, The Seabreeze Hotel, two camping areas (3 if you include the nearby Trial Bay) and load of holiday flats and cottages. The community has a preschool and primary school, but there is no high school in sight, meaning students travel to Kempsey each day, or board in larger towns and cities.
