Reviews of South Yunderup, WA

"A wonderful place to live"

South Yunderup is located along the Murray River about 50 minutes from Perth. It is a beautiful suburb that is majority established residential, however still holds onto the rural, small country town feel at the same time. The main positives of South Yunderup are how safe the suburb is. I know nearly all my neighbours down my street and they are all so friendly and look out for one another, which is such a difference compared to Perth living where people rarely meet their neighbours, let alone talk to them! It is so peaceful, plenty of fresh air and parks or bush trails to explore and most homes overlook the canals or a man-made lake, if not the Murray River is never far! The only downfall is the lack of nightlife/restaurants within easy vicinity and it would be really great if an IGA were built there for convenient local shopping. In saying this though, Mandurah is not far away and for the peace and safety of the suburb you cannot complain, it really is a lovely place to live!

"Love it"

Only visited a few times but we love it, we are looking to relocate here in a couple of months...... great for fishing & boating, very safe for kids, peaceful...... not very good for night life, shopping or eating out but heck Mandurah is only about 15 min drive, and that is a great place for those activities.

"Best hidden secret in Perth"

The oldest canals suburb in WA yet still one of the best hidden secrets around. Ideal for anyone looking for a quiet peaceful life with friendly neighbours. Where else but South Yunderup can you buy a waterfront home for the price of the typical house in Perth and tie your boat to your own jetty in the backyard ? The suburb is situated at the end of the road on the Murray river and Peel inlet so there is only local traffic and makes it ideal for a variety of watersports and idyllic walks along the river or inlet. Ideal for retirees, families with kids and now the freeway goes past it anyone working in the Southern suburbs of Perth.

"Boaties Paradise"

If you are search for tranquility and a spot close to nature, but also like to live in luxury maybe you should check out South Yunderup. You can park your boat at your backyard, and even catch a crab for lunch from your own landing. The canals mean you can be out in the Estuary or the Murray River in minutes. The new Perth Bunbury freeway has now been completed.

Its a lifestyle that is laid back - and without the hustle and bustle of big cities, but great shopping is only 10 minutes away.
