St Ives is a lovely family friendly suburb , nice and central too. Only 25 minutes to Mona Vale Beach but still easy to get to the city with Gordon Train Station only a few minutes away . Great public schools as well as private and lovely shopping village with everything you need

We absolutely love living here. There is everything from an amazing choice of public/private schools, bush access to many reserves and 2 National Parks (Garigal NP and Ku-ring-gai Chase NP), a great shopping village (Coles, Woolies AND Harris Farm!), a number of amazing restaurants, the beach is a short 20 minute drive away (Mona Vale), Bobbin Head for boating/hiking/bicycling is 10 mins away, there are 100s of kms of MTB tracks for the bicycle lovers.......the community is just close-knit, friendly, no complaints...

It’s a safe, carefree relaxing place to bring up children. Close to the city and good shops.

Fantastic access to great public and private primary and high schools is a big drawcard for St Ives. Plus it's less than 20km to the coast and less than 20km to the cbd. Large block sizes, friendly families, excellent sports clubs, great shopping village with Witchery, Bed, Bath & Table and Sportscraft as well as Woolworths and speciality shops. Tennis courts, bmx track, bush walks, wild flower gardens, golf club, skate park. Easy access to Chatswood and Hornsby for shopping/medical resources.

Where we live in St Ives is quiet and tranquil - we have considerate neighbours who share a love of the bush and nature. It is only 15 minutes drive to Chatswood, Macquarie University and easy access to Gordon Station by car/bus. Schools are amazing, especially St Ives Public School (our child went to SIPS and St Ives North). Great community spirit, multicultural and a number of good restaurants close by.

Where else can find some of the best Schools, big properties, best Cafe's and the best people. There is also lots of job opportunities close by. So it is everything a family should need.

St Ives is a gorgeous Town, people are polite and friendly but of course you only get what you give, so I suppose there are always those with attitude; those that are never happy unless they complain about something. If you live here you soon discover the great community feeling and the wonderful activities that you can involve yourself in.

I moved from the east to St Ives, the people here are so friendly and warm. I love the space I have and the feeling that comes with having space. This is a great suburb, we're close to the beach (15 minutes away) and close to the national park. St Ives has some of the best schools, both public and private.

This was a leafy family suburb of Sydney nothing special but quite and safe. Can't believe how it has changed with ugly boxes of home units springing up everywhere. No wonder so many are leaving Sydney in droves.

St. Ives is an affluent, versatile, North Shore suburb appealing to all ages. It is close to Gordon and Killara railway stations, which is excellent for students at the private schools from Milson's Point to Wahroonga. Via a scenic drive, the Gordon Centre is near by. Travelling along tree lined Mona Vale Road, Warriewood Centro and Northern Beaches are 15 mins away. Travel to the CBD is within 25 mins. No tolls! No tunnels! For lovers of wildlife, there is a fantastic variety of native birds and possums, which make good little friends, and introduce children to the love, enjoyment and value of wlidlife conservation.Driving back to St. Ives after work, the day's cares fade away, with North Shore standard time taking over. For peace of mind, this is, without doubt, the place to be.

Close to the city with rural atmosphere and close to the beach also. Trains not too far away and a range of shopping centres within 20mins drive.
Most people are friendly. Moved away for a few years and decided to move back.

Love it

Situated 16 Kilometres from the Upper North Shore of Sydney. An afluent suburb with large properties. Very quiet, yet close to it all.

St Ives sprawls over the area between Pymble, Kuringai National Park, and Warrawee, and as such has a variety of land uses. The homes here are generally large, on big blocks, with well maintained gardens. There are a lot of townhouses and over 55s type units being constructed in the area, acknowledging the aging population of the residents. Its proximity to the bush make it appealing to nature lovers, and its shopping centre is well patronised.
