Taft Court, Stretton, QLD 4116

Taft Court lies within the "Presidents" streets in Stretton. This area was built out in the late 80's early 90's and consists predominantly on one and two level brick homes on 650-950sqm blocks. There are a large number of Cul-De-Sacs in this area, which has helped form the "quiteness" of the neighbourhood. Residents here seems to tend to their gardens regularly, with some real "stunners" where the owners have gone to great lengths in making their front garden stand out.

We have lived here for about 3-ish years and have found the area to be predominantly occupied by families ranging from just-starting with young kids through to families with teenagers. There is an overwhelming sense of connectedness amongst the neighbours, more so than the other southern Brisbane suburbs we have lived in. Taft Court has a christmas party every year where the neighbours come together and share a drink and a snag.

There is a great culture of family walking in the area, and there are plenty of small parks where you can take the kids to play. It is well serviced by busses, pay-tv, broadband and the local energy grid does not seem to conk out much during the raging summer storms.

The suburb Stretton is a highly sought-after upper-middle-class neighbourhood on the southern side of Brisbane. It is a very convenient central location with quick access to the Pacific Motorway and in particular the Gateway Motorway (20mins to pick up family at the airport!) There are at least 3 day care centres just 3 minutes drive away on Gowan Road ... primary and high school also on Gowan Road ... two good size shopping centres approx 4mins drive away with numerous others 10-15mins away ... kids swimming schools ... IKEA just 15mins away ... more. It's a fantastic location, nestled between Browns Plains, Sunnybank Hills, Calamvale, Woodridge and Kuraby.
