Reviews of Tarrington, VIC

"A world quietly hidden amidst a bustling country town."

Tucked away about 3 ks from the major country town of Hamilton is a little place called Tarrington.

We accidently found this place on one of our many trips to Casterton. Our family of 5 had decided to break our 4 hr trip by booking into a B & B called The Coach House which is run by Diana Lawerance and John Morton. The property is in Picnic road Tarrington and is amidst generously spread blocks mixed with homes of new and old era. The church on the main road of Tarrington is so beautiful and is lit up at night. When you drive into Diana and John's property you are welcomed by a generous drive and cottage garden you have two choices of accomodation, b and b with this lovely couple or a stay in the Coach Inn next door, completely self contained and filled with antiques, yet fully equipped with all the comforts of the modern era. Both residences are also pet friendly and the self contained cottage looks out on equally beautiful views and has the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on.

Tarrington itself is a beautiful place to drive or walk through but if you want a quiet rest and walk you can do so on the property and ... if you have kids that are keen, you may even be able to ask Diana and John if they can help feed the horses or chooks.

If you want a nice meal it is only a short drive away at the Hamilton RSL and the staff there are friendly and the meals are generous and reasonably priced.

Having just come back from there, we just had to mention it to those who may be looking for a great family holiday with the family in quiet tucked away place with all the comforts of a modern era, yet a opportunity to share a bit of history with your children and a chance to revisit for yourself.

Great for

  • Quiet, peaceful and a chance to experience the best of both worlds.

Not great for

  • Internet access may cost a little bit more.
  • You may experience some snakes and spiders, a little more than average.
