People are friendly, metro petrol station always has cheap gas especially after 9pm. I’ll 100% feel safe here even walking around after dark. It is a nice place to live.
There is also a house with the LGBT flag there now, which I am glad to see. It is welcoming and warm.

When I first moved to Tarro I thought the position close to the Freeway and Rail line would be an advantage but I have discovered that there is a constant background noise in the area from the cars and the Coal trains that constantly travel either side of the suburb. ADSL2 is unavailable in Tarro which means for high volume internet is expensive. I also did not realise the stigma attached to the area which has drastically affected the growth porential of the area. There is nothing for the youth to do in the area but roam the streets at night for example, and aparently there are some people who have an aversion to living in a suburb next to a massive crematorium, a swamp or a chicken processing plant.
Tarro is a very affordable option and has attracted those that can afford this type of housing. If your goal is to for your next house to be your last and you are happy with very little appreciation, you should consider this area.

Excellent little spot to bring the family up. Close to everything with all major roads surrounding it. Most owners are long termers who have lived here for over thirty (30) years. With property prices due to boom within the next few years as a result of the new freeway being extended to Muswellbrook, Greta and Branxton - Tarro is becoming even closer to most areas.

A great place for those who work C/Coast or in the mining industry with only an hour to each area.

My family and I have lived around the Tarro, Beresfield and Thornton area for over twenty five (25) years. As the kids grew up, we all purchased property around the area as we can see the value.

I would highly recommend this area for any person commuting to Singleton or the Central Coast, but who want to stay and live around the Newcastle area. I commute to the Central Coast and Sydney, and have worked in the mining industry in the Hunter valley over the past and find it far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to commute.
