Lively & wealthy coastal suburb with access to great live music, coffee shops, transportation, schools, supermarkets and the cycleway. All you need in the one place.

Amazing beach. Wouldn’t live anywhere else.

"A brilliant little town with lots of character.."

Thirroul is superbly placed between a great selection of beaches and the famous escarpment. It offers good food, great shopping with an array of little boutiques and entertainment options such as the Anita Theatre or The Beaches pub with its many shows. You can find something to do here whether you like surfing, lounging on the beach, discovering new tastes or bushwalking down the road... A great place to move to if you fancy a tree change and you still want to be able to commute to Sydney for work.. Enjoy!

"Where residents think they are the best people in the Illawarra"

I used to live in Thirroul, the problem is the people there, they think they are better than you, and will let you know very clearly. Dissapointed as I like the beach close to shops.

  • The Beach
  • The local shops

Not great for

  • The people
  • The high rent / buy prices

I love working in Thirroul, its a great place and a real community. Thirroul offers its vistors and locals everything they may need. We have amazing clean beaches that attact all walks of life with many people traveling to thirroul and there beaches all year around. The location is perfect close to Sydney and Wollongong. The houses and the land is in high demand at the moment and have a great resale. If you have been looking to buy your dream home check it out, im sure you will love Thirroul just as much as me.

Do real-estate agents have no dignity.... I don't think this is an advertising space Amy. But well done.

Thirroul is a victim of its own popularity. The traffic on weekend is madness, especially in summer & its a no go zone. It's got worse since the promotion of the Grand Pacific Drive and day trippers from Sydney mixing with local traffic. If you're looking for peace and quiet I would move a little further south. Thirroul will only get busier and those escaping the rat race will only find another one. Lived there once and so glad we got out......
