"Great community"

Family friendly community, cycling pathways, walking trails, sports fields. A short drive to Early Childhood, Primary to Secondary and Tertiary schools and rail services which will have you in Newcastle in no time.

Rental returns will vary depending on investment property, I would always recommend a comparable market appraisal to determine estimated rental return.

"Great Family Friendly Suburb!"

As a property manager, I manage numerous properties in the Thornton area. This area is a family friendly suburb with a mix of brand new & older style homes. Thornton has a small shopping centre which includes coles, a butcher, cafe, bakers delight, post office & a chemist. Numerous day cares are available for those with young children along with Thornton Public School. An amazing family friendly suburb!

"Family Friendly"

Thornton is a great option if you want ready access to the Freeway heading North & South, out to the Wineries, Port Stephens & into Newcastle. In has a mixture of old & new housing, rented & owner occupied. It is a suburb more suited to those with a young family rather than those with older children, singles, couples or retirees. Thornton has a small shopping centre where you can undertake daily errands. Greenhills is the closest shopping centre approx 10 mins drive or you can head over to Raymond Terrace in approx 15 mins. Thornton does not have a hotel, club or TAB & entertainment after dark is nonexistent. Thornton has a medical centre & pharmacy, 1 Primary school & a number of Day Care centres. Public transport options are Train & Bus, sadly timetables do not compliment one another & frequency of services can be a problem. With the number of families living in Thornton there is a large number of pets. Dogs & Cats being the most popular, at times there are issues with dogs barking excessively (night & day) as well as cats fighting & getting into people’s gardens. Overall the people of Thornton are house proud, they've worked hard to purchase or build their property & make an effort to keep their homes looking good.

"a safe and established neighbourhood"

Thornton is safe, friendly and has a real community spirit. People are honest and hardworking. It is a great place for families as there are many sporting activities and we are close to other activities like fishing, motor cross etc

"Couldn't be happier!"

My partner and I have lived at Thornton for 6 months now and just love it.
Shopping close by, public transport, close to East Maitland, easy access to the freeway and only a 30 min drive to Newcastle CBD. In fact most days it takes me less time to get to work in Newcastle then it does for that of my colleges who live in Lambton and surrounds.
Prices of houses are reasonable and most blocks of decent size.
With new housing estates popping up everywhere close by its really pushing the housing market in this area and making Thornton a reputable place to live.

I would highly reccommend this area for couples with or without children and/or pets, retirees who need easy access to facilities and even singles.
